r/France mods malicously complying with a company's legal demands.

SFAM, an insurance brokerage company, asked the mods at r/France to delete comments accusing the company of being a fraud.

They asked for the deletion because «being publicly accused of a criminal offense on a web page and this without proof of any kind may amount to defamation.»

The moderators complied with their demand but took this opportunity to provide sourced links on this company's shady business.

This all went from three comments lost in the abysses of a daily free-discussion thread that had even less exposure than usual -being posted on the 27th of decembre- to a press review of their shady business being stickied in the subreddit.

Hello everyone, SFAM company contacted the moderators of r/France to ask for moderating comments against them on the free forum of the 27th of December 2018. These are three comments at the bottom of the free forum.

After some thought, the moderators of r/France decided to consent to this request. SFAM's request is sensible, and I quote "the fact of being publicly accused of a criminal offence on a web page and this without proof of any kind may amount to defamation". Please do not call someone a scammer or crook without solid evidences.
