You probably don't get bussy because you're the type of guy who fucking nails his dick to a board

This is so stupid. YA twitter and YA authors deserve each other though, and nothing of actual value was lost.

The pronouns in her (thx bio) bio tells you all you need to know.

I kinda had some sympathy after the first post posted here, but after this pussy move I hope her stupid book doesn't get published and the mob gets what it wants. YoungAdultGate when?

Maybe if you don’t want a fanbase that behaves like overgrown children, you shouldn’t be writing books that are aimed at overgrown children.

Couldn't people who would be offended by the book just not read it?

Oh, you sweet summer child.

Much to unpack here.

😴😴😴

Now this is a quality gimmick account.

I am genuinely interested in how someone on the internet in the year 2019 could ask that question. And not just someone, but an /r/drama reader. People getting offended and needing others to know about it, that's what we do here.

Honey, it's a rhetorical question

oh sweaty

Lame ass rhetoric? In your r/drama? It's more likely than you think!

It wasn't difficult I just used my tying skills to write a sentence and put a question mark at the end of it.

The mark of true shitposting is to not overthink it and just let the autism flow.

I'm a better person than you because I was offended by more things.

Join me on the right side of history!

It's like he doesn't even know about Bird Box or Air Pods (which are a must-have social status symbol, if you are a non financially-affluent, coastal Ameriburger.).

Points for hitting them with the current year.

This is about slavery, bitchballz. SLAVERY. This author is some kinda -ese, and not even the dark kind. Get with it or cancel yourself.🛑⚠️㊙️

Why is there something wrong with enslaving people? Or writing about it? Huckleberry Finn is a pretty good book.

Oof. Biased and “teacher is gonna say the N-word”-pilled. 👉🏻🤐🧔🏿🤭

People were cool with slavery when it was just Goyim and Shmenk but it's not okay when it's Tyrone or Bryson.

Huckleberry Finn has also been banned lots of times by various school districts and libraries.

No, it's about protecting the children from incorrect thought.

What did he mean by this?

People have literally never in history done that I'm afraid

What? And have this privileged woman take away my right to read any book I want without being offended?

Just don't read it lol 4HEad

This is what I do. I just keep them all on a special bookshelf labelled "The Worstest Most Offensive Offending Books EVAAAAR 😨😨😨" and there they stay. Seriously it is so easy to do.

Emigrated to escape Chinese censors only to have apparently 4 years of work ruined by Western censors. F

Not even Western censors. By Twitter users who aren't offended themselves, but are concerned that the content MIGHT offend someone somewhere on Earth at some undefined point in time. Won't someone think of that poor sensitive person? You guys make me want to fucking throw up.

ahem, its Book Community.

You’re a book community

thank you for acknowledging me

Your mom's a book community

I do check her out from time to time, yes

Get a load of this Book Society.

Hey, having a mob of deranged lunatics hounding you 24/7 isn't censorship, you shitlord gamergater. Only the government can censor someone!!!

Deciding not to publish something because others have raised concerns is NOT an infringement of free speech. It would be an infringement of free speech if Amelie published her book and was arrested for its content. Don't cheapen her very poignant decision with inaccuracies.

free speech isn't the first amendment. When the alt right harrases someone it's censorship, when the woken do it it's not censorship.

This is why we NEED radical centrism.

Fair play to this sub - I've never seen a horse flogged more aggressively.

You seemed to be giving up on 'bussy' but that just seems to mean a more aggressive pursuit of radical centrism.

There is nothing wrong with encouraging perfection.

Exactly. When I want to talk about free speech, it doesn't start and end on the first amendment. When I say I believe in free speech I mean that I believe in the open discussion of ideas between all people, it's a moral and philosophical thing, not a legal one. But people like to wag their finger back at you and go "nuh uh, the guberment didn't do it so it's not infringing on ur rights, sweaty"

Its a sure sign that they're politically illiterate and have never read Harriett Taylor.

some peolpe just don't get that free speech may exist beyond legal status. It's an idea

Don't worry, the government won't ruin your life if you say something controversial, Twitter will.

Time for Twitter do the right thing and close up shop. Yeah yeah we'll lose the lolcows but sometimes you just got to make those kinds sacrifices. Plus we'll always still have tumblr.

Plus we'll always still have tumblr.

It died too after they banned female presenting nipples.

Maybe not even yours - maybe we'll attempt to get your mother fired. You don't even have to do anything - just be in a crowd of schoolboys!

Even the mafia leaves families out of it.

Defending your speech with "it's not literally illegal" while people are showing you the door! https://xkcd.com/1357/

btw someone linked https://xkcd.com/137/, this is kinda sad actually how Trump Anxiety Syndrome turns people into morons.

Can't really say I hate anyone more than the XKCD author tbh

He's alright, I haven't read him for a while but he isn't that political.

he isn't that political

https://xkcd.com/1756/

Yeah, and that got him a lot of backlash because it was so out of place with the rest of the comics.

You mean people realised he was a soyboy at that moment.

'We can do this' - I love looking back on the days right before Trump's victory.

CringeAutists go home. Immigrants out. Bussy only.

https://i.imgur.com/AplDnKx.png

You don't have to be political to be as aggressively mediocre as his smarmy shit comic

Especially by the sheer overexposure to that dumb ass-comic. Jesus Christ it’s like we can never escape someone posting that comic for karma.

I hate it's fans more

Lmao somehow that faceless comic character looks so fucking smug

The face of fascism.

Excuse me, its Trump Anxiety Disorder

plz don't call me a gamergater even ironically 🤮

There's just no way in hell she lived 18 years in China. Say what you will about the Chinese but they don't give a fuck about anything that gets in their way. Their government is a brutal dictatorship in the midst of genocide and the air in most of their biggest cities is literally poison; you think they're gonna give a shit about pronouns and throw away years of work cause of some twitter retards?

her bio says she was "born in Paris and raised in a multicultural community in Beijing". Probably sent by rich parents to an international school and raised in a Western environment with the intention of going overseas for college.

I was just mending lul

Ya I know tbh I wasn't really replying to you, I just needed somewhere to pin my spergout.

Meh I have no sympathy. If you're so fragile that people on twitter are able to browbeat you into doing what they want via internet comments that's on you

You can bully people out of achieving their dreams from your phone. WATTBA

Pronouns in the bio. Yep, this is schadenfreude for me now.

For all we know she was more or less forced to do that due to the fact that the YA audience is the retarded woke one.

It's like if I started selling marshmallow pies for a living, you bet your ass I'm going to start putting truck nutz on my car and wearing rebel flag t-shirts.

t's like if I started selling marshmallow pies

What is that?

When you creampie a bussyhole.

Has to be a thicc puffy ass though.

Rocking horse people eat them, I hear

So what is the answer here? The priper procedure, should she have just ignore then? If she didn't want to be with SJWs putting her pronouns in her bio is already bending the knee once. You do it once you are already fucked cause the woke patrol is gonna expect you to always stay in line.

So i ask again, what is proper procedure here? Just ignore it?

The best way to "deal with" woke mobs on Twitter seems to be just ignoring them. A lot of people are in it just to get a rise out of someone or "shut them down" to feel like they're a part fo the greater good or some kind of online army. If you ignore them soon enough they find the next person to sink their teeth into, and maybe the next person will kowtow to them, which is the only thing they want

Yes ignore it, what actual influence do the Twitter Tards actually wield in the real world?

more or less forced to do that

By this, you mean "freely and willingly did that in order to temporarily gain some fair-weather friends whom she thought (wrongly) might help to advance her career"?

Why did you land on "making friends" instead of the more obvious "making money"?

I also like the books in the background, showing that much of her identity is wrapped up in being a writer. No publisher will touch her again now that she's demonstrated how unreliable she is.

This was almost certainly her publisher's decision, not hers.

It's important that your background illustrate who are. That's why I always take pictures with my stack of Mein Kampf's and rare Pokémon cards behind me. Exudes credibility and gets the brand out there.

I know Twitter banned people who had the anon avatars even though they weren't even bullying any specific group. But will they ban you if you make fun of this stuff in your bio?

Why did she feel the need to clarify the pronunciation of Amelie in her bio? Like, it's fucking Amelie.

It's Amélie, not Amelie, you think her dumbass audience knows what to do with the accent mark?

I’m confused, is the outrage because she didn’t cover American slavery in a book about Chinese slavery?

I think the point is that no one really knows because no one has read the book.

What did people think they were attacking then?

What did people think they were attacking then?

An easily bullied victim.

They were sperging out because a blurb for the book said it described a fantasy world in which "oppression was blind to skin colour." They seem to believe (or want to believe) that the author was claiming that racism doesn't exist.

But the real explination here is simply that YA readers and authors are hysterical morons who stopped maturing at age 15.

Jesse Singal has a thread on twitter explaining it in more deapth.

Thanks.

That's a different book.

scroll down in the thread, it's not actually about the book in the vulture article

Thanks for the goldnugget.

But a growing number of critics say the draggings, well-intended though they may be, are evidence of a growing dysfunction in the world of YA publishing. One author and former diversity advocate described why she no longer takes part: “I have never seen social interaction this fucked up,” she wrote in an email. “And I’ve been in prison.”

Yikes.

A person more successful than themselves

Not anymore lmao.

She has a character in it that was bronze skinned with blue eyes and they took that to mean a black person so she got hit for the bad things happening to this imaginary "black" person and then for her having the audacity to have a "black" person with blue eyes.

Black people can't have bronze skin.

Don't you oppress me!

bronze skinned... and they took that to mean a black person

mediterraneans rise up

I'm olive, not bronze.

You're a burger tbh

indeed. but with a heavy helping of olives.

It's over for Olivecels

🤨👱🏽‍♂️👱🏾‍♂️👱🏿‍♂️

Uh oh.

This is the type of absolute idiocy these SJW's are raging with.

An X-Men style allegory is racist because somehow being oppressed for your powers is saying all black people are criminals...

And not having any disabled people in the book.

This us some struggle session shit. Damn.

lol @ the retard "voidwitch book reviewer" in the comments who doesn't think self-censorship is censorship.

Void...witch?

Sounds like a fucking Homestuck designation but what do I know

They keep making up goofy names for themselves and have been doing this for years. They mock gaming for being too escapist from reality and then they call themselves stupid names on their twitter profiles.

She is brave because she caved in to the demands of a couple of people she doesn't even know? K

bossbitch

These people make me feel like the king of self-esteem in comparison.

I'm gonna write a dark YA version of War and Peace

Do it with old timey black people talk, like zora neale hurston phonics

Lol, pretty much every single person supporting her decision is a white woman with “she/her” on their twitter bios

This is why we need Islam. And mayocide.

Debuting author

So it's a shit book then. Most books are crap. New writers have to write a few horrible books before they write something okay. So I'm not sure society overall is losing anything here. Just burn her book. No one cares.

My first book was a steamy gay romance novel that was basically 300 pages of describing the sound sweaty balls make when they feverishly slap up against a freshly shorn bussy. My next book will be way better.

Nice. Starting right at the bottom of the pit. Only direction left is up. I bet your next homoerotica piece will be that much better.

Thanks brother. We are all on this gay ride called life together.

Tbf that sounds Nobel-worthy

My next book will be way better.

But how could one improve on such greatness?

Hemingway's first novel was his best

Stephen King's first published novel was Carrie, and his first written was The Long Walk, both are considered essential King books.

Hemingway's first novel was The Sun Also Rises

JK Rowling's was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

J.R.R. Tolkien's was The Hobbit

First novels are oftentimes great, occasionally even their best.

Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell can be added to that list.

Stephen King is an ultra talent. It's like watching Michael Jordan's first NBA game. Of course ultra talents are good pretty much from the gate.

Hmmmmm, YA Authors bully an up and coming POC YA author so she can't release her new book but she has a book coming out? Really activates the almonds 🤔

Slants don't count in current year +4

What exactly was the problem with the story? Can somebody summarize?

it was shit

Who knows? People haven't read it yet.

WE WUZ SLAVES AMD SHEIT

This is pathetic

u/thereasontrumpwon

Change my view: Every Twitter user is a gigantic faggot.

What an absolute fucking moron.

Pandering to SJWs never ends well.

The YA author needs some Brain Force from the Infowars store to help them break the conditioning and help them realize that the Twatter outrage is funded by the deep state to prevent that book from getting into the hands of aliens from Alpha Centauri.

ya isn't actually for young adults, it's for lonely 20-40 year olds who want to relive the glory years they never really had in the first place.

she should not have bowed down to these cretins.

ya isn't actually for young adults, it's for lonely 20-40 year olds who want to relive the glory years they never really had in the first place.

no that's highschool anime

So is a good deal of what is labeled as YA.

isn't YA mostly boring Fantasy stuff?

As for novels that let you relive the happy, eventful school life you never had I'd be interested in hearing some suggestions ...

isn't YA mostly boring Fantasy stuff?

I don't know if fantasy YA outnumbers non-Fantasy YA. Though I wouldn't be surprised.

As for novels that let you relive the happy, eventful school life you never had I'd be interested in hearing some suggestions ...

John Green's stuff.

I think if you genuinly want suggestions you'll run into the problem that high-school anime is mostly written for boys and neckbeards while (Western) YA is mostly going to be written for teen girls or stay at home mothers. So mileage may vary.

And the few male authors (John Green ae) tend to be nu-males.

John Green is awful ... I don't think YA would be good for me then.

As for highschool anime I think some of it can be pretty good, though I'm a bit too old to be a boy now but not a neckbeard either. Some shows like Tsuki ga Kirei are legitly real good. Some are just sort of entertaining and the SoL shows are usually pretty soothing.

but not a neckbeard either

You aren't fooling anyone.

I have a shitty job and even shave like all 3 days or so (just don't need to more often)

I'm more like a Japanese salaryman than a neckbeard

A majority of anime is just cartoon YA.

if i could target one group of people and ship them off to the mongolian steppe it would be twitter whites

>Book Community

lol

"The computer community", "the food community", "the car community".

the drama community

The gay community

lulul

I usually have some kind wiseass reply to identity politics garbage like this but reading some of the tweets by the muh-slavery-not-okay hate mob in there is making me fucking sick. And fuck that cowardly author for kowtowing to them and allowing them to get away with it. I hate you all.

Jesus fuck where's my waifu pillow I'm going to bed.

Just checking my sexism is still calibrated, I'm seeing a very strong split between Men decrying the bullying and Women cheering for it.

>YA

Nothing of value was lost

The audience that reads YA is retarded, so no sympathy to anyone in this drama.

Lol why the f is this chick putting those pronouns in her bio. All the Chinese people I’ve met are far less retarded when it comes to this nonsense, e.g. my Chinese wife cringes when I talk about feminine penis.

Anybody past 17 reading YA novels should be shot. Especially Harry Potter, inshallah.

BLOOD HEIR is the first book in an epic new series about a princess hiding a dark secret and the conman she must trust to clear her name of murder.

Princess Anastacya Mikhailov of Cyrilia has lived her life in safety, hidden behind palace walls. But when she is framed for her father’s brutal murder, she must leave behind everything she has ever known to find his killer and prove her innocence. And there is only one person corrupt enough to help her – Ramson Quicktongue.

A cunning, silver-tongued crime lord of the Cyrilian underworld, Ramson has his own sinister plans – though he might have met his match in Ana. Because in this story, the princess might be the most dangerous player of them all.

A YA epic with a bloody twist, BLOOD HEIR is perfect for fans of Victoria Aveyard, Sabaa Tahir, and Sarah J. Maas.

How do you find something problematic in that lmao.

Also, Cyrilia probably isn't the most original name for a Slav-inspired kingdom.

And unironically nothing of value was lost

Tbf her apology was so boringly written its likely no one would have enjoyed the book anyway

>Using Twitter

Now you done fucked up.

Just remember that thousands of teens are reading this woke BS and getting indoctrinated while their still impressionable. The publishers must be removed.

Well this makes me not want to keep writing now. If I'm going to get bashed until I either retreat and not publish or publish and things escalate, why bother?
