The only time I've ever given a shit about the nuances of f*male anatomy is when I was doing a hard guro/vore RP where I needed to remember how to spell the parts of her reproductive system that my character was eating.

I’m Episcopalian β€” we believe in finding an appropriate balance between reason, tradition, and scripture, all having strengths and weaknesses. To us, the Bible is not the final authority, it’s a part of Christian history, a tool used to preserve and transmit knowledge, and a very important one.

So at sometime during the many years since my shadow last fell on a church door Episcopalians have become Unitarians or am I reading this wrong?

Briefly, it's been a point of contention for (in the broad strokes of the current positions) at least 150 years. On one hand you have mainline churches, a possible example of one of their position being the quoted text. They tend to run theologically liberal, which note is not the same as the political meaning. Please find linked a wiki article about their preferred method of interpretation of the Bible.

On the other hand, you have theologically conservative churches. One of the criticisms they offer to the former is, indeed, that over time they tend to move away from historically orthodox positions on eg, the Godhead, God's plan of salvation and redemption, and various other matters. According to this criticism this may be considered to stem more or less from the semantic looseness of their prefrerred method of interpretation.

The contrasting method of interpretation in the linked article may be one you intuit to be the basic means of understanding Scripture qua Scripture. The theologically liberal criticism has a lot to the argument, but at least one salient point is that conservatives seem to do a lot of work to harmonize the Bible in order to read it synoptically, as one great Book of books.

And oh gosh I gave a marginally serious response; someone get me a drink.

That's great and all, but I asked for my burger without cheese.

I have not forgotten the lessons that I learned at my conformation classes, they would have solidly fit the description of theologically conservative. I then went and looked up my old churches website and noticed that they have over the years moved towards the more liberal interpretation.
I kind of lost interest in all of this shit the first day my mother wasn't around to make me get my ass out of bed on a sunday morning and this is all news to me now. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

They're already damned to Catholic hell, so they're desperately clinging onto any theological straws that might offer a better deal on the afterlife.

I so desperately want to ping that trulyachristian guy and ask him why he thinks God wants him to not wear mixed fibers.

I was born gay so I know the struggle. The fact is that the bible makes it clear that gay activity is a sin. Because those individuals were not strong enough to love God doesn't mean that gay sex is somehow OK. They failed God's test of them.

Imagine renouncing bussy.
