so i looked up the guy and outside voicing the main guy in both full metal alchemist series (which are pretty popular i think) he hasn't really done shit, it seems his roles in dbz shit is pretty unimportant too. why are people freaking out? just because he was the fma guy?
As you said he doesn't have many roles, but as the main character in one of the arguable most popular anime dubs have given him a sizeable fanbase of fans, and especially fangirls.
People are spergs though, so he also has dedicated hate groups, seen Facebook groups with hundreds of members just spending their time talking about how he fingerbang 16 year olds while their mother watches.
Because he's one of the few conservative individuals inside the voice acting industry this has managed to devolve into a political battleground.

He also started Star Trek Continues which is a non-profit project that takes place after the original Star Trek where he plays Captain Kirk and also has had guest appearances on it like Lou Ferrigno who played the original Incredible Hulk.
