Philosophy paper unironically argues that mosquitoes are, in fact, friends of the revolution.

I didn't think it would actually happen but it did.

The money quote:

If charity and social change are incompatible, as I suggest, then advocates of social change seem obliged to accept that currently poor people should be denied structurally harmful charity for the sake of eventual improvements under socialism, which might only be enjoyed by future generations.

Why are they incompatible?

Because charity reinforces "permissive cultural norms of economic choice that facilitate legal rights of private property and freedom of occupation."

There is absolutely nowhere on Reddit (except maybe The Great Awakening) where stupider, sadder, scareder, or crazier comments consistently get upboats and support than this place you linked. You might think, Hey look! A place where women aren't all sucking tranny peen! Weird! But then you find out that they are scared of tranny peen, and believe that in a couple years, women who don't assimilate and get a peen themselves will be locked up in suspended cages, let down from their gibbets only to be repeatedly viciously raped and denied STEM jobs.

That place is like /r/drama if everyone here felt scared for their lives, and could only find possibly recourse in demanding mayocide and bussy. Swap our memes for 'white-female ethnosexstate now' and 'kill all men before they kill all women' and you have a pretty fair idea of their topics.

And that's where it gets interesting: they're unironically probussycide, unironically antifemayocide. Truly, /r/drama has its antithesis.

And believe me: it is dangerous.

Why are you posting the same thing all over r/Drama?

Socialists in 2015: Workers and the poor unite!

Socialists in 2019: Burn the poor!

Stalin knew that the peasants could not exist in his envisioned worker society, but he obviously couldn't tell the peasants that.

the best socialism by far is the former eastern european socialist in just how radically centrist it really is

if you stand out in any way shape or form (don't have the pre-approved haircut, are not ethnically pure and you don't suck your local commissar's dick or don't like being harassed by the army every day when you are drafted), you are an outcast and you are on the secret police's radar

also the adoration of coal miners, 5 years of hard labour for homosexual conduct, abortion being illegal because the nation needs childern, total disregard for the environment, or really anything that's not essential for your nation

and westerners then wonder why the eastern europe is not a bastion of liberalism and tolerance despite having relatively strong social safety nets

Tankies should somehow get to live in the states they idolize, it would be hilarious

as a response they Chapo chaps always throw this line of 'the state capitalism' so that explains their lack of success

like if true socialism is so inherently better and more effective why didn't they adopt that in the first place, seems like a no-brainer

It's so weird because the same people who mention state capitalism will never miss an opportunity to lick the boots of the USSR.

Isn't this exactly like the time lsc and neoliberal feuded over a malaria charity?

tfw you want to deliberately cause the deaths of millions of people your ideology is nominally created to uplift, in the hopes that their ancestors might one day be more sympathetic to your ideology (that decreed that the death of their parents was a good thing)

just socialist things

I've always known that helping other people is fascism.

Unironically, that's indeed a thing.

The experience of the twentieth century made highly problematic the claims of progress on the basis of science and technology. For the ability of technology to better human life is critically dependent on a parallel moral progress in man. Without the latter, the power of technology will simply be turned to evil purposes, and mankind will be worse off than it was previously.

This is what Francis Fukuyama wrote The End of History and the Last Man.

In other words, it could be said that helping someone achieve certain "technical" goal without, at the same time, helping someone morally progress will have negative results.

Practically speaking, you can contain and manage ebola but if you cannot teach some average African not to fuck a monkey.

my uncle ted said the same thing

Francis clearly picked it up from Ted.

I haven't seen an author get BTFO harder than Fukuyama in my lifetime

To be fair, everyone was high on victory. Hindsight is twenty-twenty.

At what point should a political theorist just kill themselves out of shame? I mean he's Japanese, I figured it would have happened already.

What is moral progress? That shit sounds like itโ€™s built on about 100 assumptions that need to be critically examined.

moral progress

I already wrote

you can contain and cure ebola but if you cannot teach some average African not to fuck a monkey, it's all a waste.

1, The very first citation in the endnotes is Slate Star Codex. Too easy. 2. He looks exactly how one would expect him to 3. For the love of christ, is this entire paper just some tankie's C O P E mechanism after that time that r/neoliberal asked LateStageCapitalism to help the poor, resulting in a hall of fame hissy fit?

Fuck the people so we can have a revolution and I'm at the top
