The gaming community is as close you get to a white supremacists eithout going to a white supremacist rally And kids play games. The future is fucked in ways I don't think people realize, if you think these days are bad, oh boy wait untill the 12 year olds who have grown up around people saying the N word constantly become adults. Yeah...
Basically gaming has legitamatley been a fucking horrible plauge on the world and has been a massive cause of the recent rise of racism.
Vast majority? Look, I know these hoaxes are far too common, and seem to have increased in frequency, but according to FBI figures on hate crime incidents (7,175 just for 2017, which is low, since not all precincts report them to the FBI) and the fakehatecrimes.org figures on known hoaxes (349 TOTAL, which is likely high since that website contains many duplicates contained with in "compilation" entries, unconfirmed hoaxes, and things that aren't even crimes, let alone hate crimes), it still only comes out to 5% and you can only even get to that figure by compiling ALL known hoaxes according to fakehatecrimes.org and comparing them to only the FBI hate crime stats for 2017. Once you start adding in other years, that 5% shrinks rapidly. This is very far from a "vast majority". I'm sure theres a big margin of error there, but it's not going to turn 5% into 51% or more. I'm interested in objective study and cataloging of the phenomenon of hate crime hoaxes, not bullshit partisan hyperbole.
What he actually says in the video is that "virtually all of the high profile, widely reported hate crimes over the past 2-3 years have been hoaxes", and then he switches it to "very many high profile hate hoax stories, probably most, turn out to be fakes". So he doesn't really even know, he starts off with the words "virtually all", then backtracks, and softens his words to vague weasel words like "very many" and "probably most". He never cites any numbers, which one would expect from someone who has actually done research on it. This dude, much like his shitty goatee, is a joke, not a source of any new insight on this topic.

This just contributes to a culture that makes people feel unsafe coming forward to the police about fake hate crimes.
