So my sibling and I share a birthday in the month of February. As we both work, we are going to at least spend a little of our own money on ourselves. Sibling and I live with our father, and grandmother is staying here temporarily.

For this year I only spent close to $100 on myself for my birthday as I didn’t have enough. My sibling however spends $300+ on themselves this year.

A note needs to be made in all of this. I spent at least $700 on bills and groceries this month alone, as I help out my father. Sibling, however, made a $100 contribution to groceries half of which went to beer and cheesecake.

There is one last bill we have left for this month, our power bill and my grandmothers. It’s about $500. My father agreed to put in $100, as he’s already paid other bills. I don’t get paid until Friday, so it is left to my sibling to pay it before it is cut off. $376 is what sibling should have to pay exactly. Sibling owes me $140 for a computer I bought for him when he didn’t have one and needed one for college. I proposed that instead of him giving me $20 every paycheck, I take it out of the $300 I was giving him back for paying the power bill. Meaning he would get $160. He lost his shit.

As I work third shift, I usually just get home as he leaves for college or work. He hears me bring this up to my dad and flips out berating me in multiple ways. So I take the good route and point out to my dad what I’ve contributed and what he has not, state that I am tired of being walked on, that I will not give him more than $160, and go to bed. I wake up to him trying to give me said computer back and say that I owe him the money he’s already given for it. Not how it works. He says if I do this he won’t pay the power bill because he wants to get a new tattoo. So at this point I’m ready to just let it get cut off to prove a point. Maybe he’ll have fun looking at his tattoo in the dark.
