I thought Spike Lee was kind of okay, then I saw what he did with Old Boy. He literally fucking sucks as a director, he has no idea what he is doing if it doesn’t involve black culture. He is absolute trash. Throw him to the sharks. 🦈🐊🦈🦑🦀
He took a classic, and pit all of the worst aspects of American cinema into it, and made the story worse in almost every way. Such an awful fucking movie.
It is unlikely that Lee was being ungracious or a sore loser for not winning. This was about the undercurrent that seemed to follow Green Book through much of the race. Our Pete Hammond will fill in the blanks when he can.
It wasn't oscar worthy though, there were a couple scenes that were obvious artsy crap that was just trying to pander to the academy and pretend the movie wasn't a mediocre waste of time.
