Everyone is saying there's a looming crisis, but it's easy to claim to predict something so vague. Here's one of the biggest potential crises looming on the horizon: the collapse of Amazon Inc and the unemployment of 700,000 employees, if not more.

Cult-of-the-personality-of-the-founder-and-CEO companies including Facebook (Zuckerberg controlling voting shares), Google (Larry Page+Sergey Brin controlling voting shares), Amazon (Bezos controlling voting shares) collapse as their founders make the wrong decision, derailing the US economy with them as their companies collapse and go bankrupt with too fast expansion/leverage. The bigger the company the larger an impact a collapse will be, and that means the country is most exposed to risk with a collapse of Amazon.

Amazon Inc collapses, leaving 700,000 people unemployed. Amazon will collapse it's not a matter of if but when, simply because Amazon is not a real company, rather Amazon is a cult-of-the-personality-of-the-founder-and-CEO. Jeff Bezos has controlling voting shares and yes men on the board of directors. Meaning Amazon is an extension of the personality of Bezos, and Bezos is an insecure megalomaniac using leverage and obfuscation to keep increasing Amazon's revenue. As long as Amazon's revenue increases, investors recommend the stock, the stock goes up, and Bezos stays rich. But the problem is that every time Amazon's revenue doesn't increase to Wall Street's expectations, Amazon's stock drops, regardless of if profits go up. Conclusion: Amazon, and Bezos, has a perverse incentive to keep and keep expanding revenues. As revenues increase, Amazon has become the second largest company in the country with nearly 700,000 people. 8 years ago Amazon had 30,000 people working for it. This is unsustainable, and as Amazon reaches "too big to fail status" when Amazon collapses because Bezos is unable to satisfy the needs of Wall Street to continue to expand, it'll leave 700,000+ people unemployed, derailing the US and potentially world economies where Amazon has a presence.

Solutions to avert a collapse of Amazon: Bezos personally is willing to let his stock come back to earth as he realizes he cannot just keep increasing revenues forever without a sustainable business model. Or regulation breaks up Amazon, or Bezos spins off sections of the company with Amazon Web Services its own entity from the retail business. Or the leadership in Amazon becomes more rounded and less controlled by the whims of Jeff Bezos. The fact Wall Street doesn't blink on Bezos' leadership after the New York HQ2 debacle, the divorce of his wife who will now control a significant stake in the company, and the fact Bezos is a political player whether he wants to or not with the ownership of the Washington Post is concerning and highly revealing: Amazon will do well with Wall Street and they will turn a blind eye as long as revenues continue to increase.
