iirc this is the most popular technique. Sorry for the New Age website. You basically just have to clear your mind and try to separate yourself from the perceptual sensations in your body. If you're doing it right you'll start to feel like you're vibrating and cold, at which point there are a few different techniques for fully 'separating', which is the hardest part. It was not a dream. There was a felt buzzing sensation in the third eye area that I could hear and a white light, followed by me floating above my body.

Im not being ironic, and it wasnt a dream. Go to sleep tonight and try to remember the sequence of events before you have your dream state. There is, first of all, the deep sleep state of blackness, then a seamless transition into a dream scenario. All dreams are like this on examination. My experience was not this; there was the waking state, then a white light and buzzing sounds near the third eye area, then I popped out and I could see myself lying in the exact position my body started in.

Ok, it’s a lucid dream

Your soul didn’t pop out of your body, you were just aware you were dreaming and your subconscious remembered the position your body was in.

Whenever I try to induce sleep paralysis for a lucid dream I hear a buzzing in my ear right before I pass out.

I couldnt have known what I was going to look like from a top down perspective because you do everything in the waking state from the first person perspective. That knowledge would be impossible to form a memory out of.

And you did hear a buzzing sound, but as you said, you did pass out. Which means you first went into the deep sleep state before you had a lucid dream. A lucid dream is not the same thing as what happened to me because you always still pass through the blackness of deep sleep before you get into a dream state where you realize you are dreaming.

I should mention that there is no qualitative difference between the dream state and the astral projection state. Its just that one state happens from the waking state and the other the deep sleep state. You both basically go to the same place. In actuality, each time you go to sleep at night you practice for what your death will be. You go unconscious into what is called the causal body (deep sleep) and then you "wake up" so to speak into a dream land into the astral body (dream state)

That knowledge would be impossible to form a memory out of.
