I vastly preferred the show when Henry would continue to be funny - you now, like a comedian - even in the "heavy hitters" episodes.
Last Podcast on the Left. It's a fun, morbid comedy podcast about conspiracies, monsters and serial killers. Over the past year, they've really toned down the morbid humor and started acting like they're genuinely upset about the topic they're discussing (and research for a month at a time).
Oh, a couple summers ago I started listening to them from the beginning. Looks like I listened up to...lemme check...episode 232, Bigfoot Hunters, from July 13 2016.
It feels like they've started appealing hard to the true crime demographic when the podcast's original appeal was that it wasn't just another true crime podcast; it was a comedy podcast about weird scary shit.
It also has recently felt like they've tried to make it more of a general and serious Dan Carlin-style of show (esp. since the Jonestown and Rasputin episodes) at the expense of the comedic element, which has kind of ruined my enjoyment of the newest crop of episodes. The older ones are still cash though.
They cover a ton of shit, there will be some misses. The old Hong Kong Henry zebrowski, borderline incel Kissel shit is still available for free if you want it. Human beings maturing happens. I do agree that they’re not focusing as much on cryptids and aliens as they used too but I would never fault the boys for getting money. Can you imagine being Marcus and going all the way to Lubbock Texas to get a degree in radio? They need to endow a fucking professorship in his name after what he’s done with LPN
I don't think neutering is the same thing as maturing. But it's easy to think that when you're told there's only one acceptable way to think.
Also I never got an "incel" vibe from Kissel. He's just a friendly Midwestern oaf. We should all be so lucky to know one. And I certainly agree about Marcus. He's built a nice little empire. Excellent researcher and producer, but as the cutesy one, he's irritating.

I learned about this pretty fast as someone who writes screenplays for fun. I gave a writer detailed feedback on his script on a screenplay site. I pointed out 10 different things and went through the script scene by scene. He told me he disagreed with me and that he felt his script was great already, he didn't plan to change anything. Then another person gave the writer feedback on some minor gender issue. It was about there not being a certain type of female character in the script doing a certain thing. As it was problematic not having those events happen. And suddenly the writer, who just told me to go jump in a lake, apologized profusely and nearly begged for forgiveness and said he would never ever do such a thing again and would rewrite his whole script right away.
You can tell a reviewer to go fuck himself easily. But you cannot do the same if the reviewer points out that kind of "problematic" stuff. Because if you do that the reviewer will take his complaint to some social media site.
I doubt most people would agree that it's inherently unacceptable to write a story centered around characters of a certain identity in the context of a tragedy perpetrated against people with another identity.

I learned about this pretty fast as someone who writes screenplays for fun. I gave a writer detailed feedback on his script on a screenplay site. I pointed out 10 different things and went through the script scene by scene. He told me he disagreed with me and that he felt his script was great already, he didn't plan to change anything. Then another person gave the writer feedback on some minor gender issue. It was about there not being a certain type of female character in the script doing a certain thing. As it was problematic not having those events happen. And suddenly the writer, who just told me to go jump in a lake, apologized profusely and nearly begged for forgiveness and said he would never ever do such a thing again and would rewrite his whole script right away.
You can tell a reviewer to go fuck himself easily. But you cannot do the same if the reviewer points out that kind of "problematic" stuff. Because if you do that the reviewer will take his complaint to some social media site.

4chan really needs to make a list of all the authors who did the pile ons of those two books and make sure they point out all the problematic stuff in their new novels. This way, we get no more young adult novels and these people become poor and destitute. Let's weaponize the autism for good.
