Holy shit I see this so much. I try to do it but I'm not really good about it. But I've been in a million conversations, specificaly about feminism, in which me and a female friend of mine are trying to make a point while the rest of the men are a little IRL shitposting, and a little trying to seriously dismiss the point because they don't like it. And when she says something they ignore it with a joke between themselves, but then I almost word for word simply repeat what she said, and this time they at least hear it, and respond kinda annoyed. I have a deep voice, I'm pretty serious, and most importantly, I'm a guy, even though I'm not one of the guys. We've actually made it a concious experiment between us and it was so egregoriously in plain sight, yet no one but us was seeing it, it was incredible.
