Hey, it’s a good show!!

No idea tbh. It's been years since I watched any animes. I don't even remember what it was. I only remember some of the decent-to-good ones.

I don’t watch that much anime either. I’m too picky. I usually just watch like an episode or two and abandon all together.

I’m not saying this is like a masterpiece or anything but it’s pretty fast paced and you just want to find out what’s next. It’s about kids in an orphanage who aren’t allowed to leave the premises. They found out that “being adopted” means they would be offered as food to these creatures. So, the world is seemingly controlled by another species and orphanages are actually human farms. I like the world building.

This reminded me of Haibane Renmei. I can heartily recommend it, although it is absolutely not fast paced.

I’m fine with not fast paced too. I also like slice of life. I’ve been watching Hakumei to Mikochi because it fills the void left by The Secret World of Arrietty. HtM is about these two tiny people who live in the forest doing the most mundane things ever. My boyfriend doesn’t get this at all. There’s an episode where one character gets a haircut and that’s pretty much it 😂

Look at how cute it is 🥰https://i.imgur.com/3DVuvox.jpg

I think I’m more focused on the world building and art style. I will definitely check it out. It looks like my kinda thing. Thanks!

That's definitely cute 😄

For me it is often about the characters, more than the world but there are some exceptions such as with Texhnolyze. For slice of life, I remember Suzuka was decent and Fruits Basket is a classic. There is one that I'm forgetting which was about some girl facing harships due to sickness and it was happening in countryside but I can't recall the name.

For art style, I always preferred mangas over anime but it also comes down to personal preferences. There's also the classics of Miyazaki which excell as much in style as with the writing.

Texhnolyze bas been in my watchlist for a long loooooong time now lol Slice of Life helps me unwind and focus on simpler things. I tried Fruits Basket a long time ago but I don’t remember having a strong opinion about it.

I can’t get into mangas and comic books in general. I don’t know why. My brain just shuts down when moving from panel to panel. I prefer reading novels instead.

My favorite anime is Claymore and I still cannot find anything on that level again 😔It’s like the Game of Thrones of anime. It’s adult, dark and has badass female warriors (hello, international women’s day!! Is it today??). You know how can service is so common in anime with female warriors. Claymore really focused on the story. It’s unintentionally the most feminist show ever lol

Texhnolyze is great!

Yeah, fruits basket is, I think, pretty laid back and it would probably not evoke any strong feelings except being a nice slice-of-life series.

I haven't watched Claymore but it seems really good. Agreed with the fan service. While I'm not really bothered by it myself, it's kinda boring trope thing.

Serial Experiments Lain is pretty nice but is close to being psychedelic, which brings me to Paprika (an anime movie). It's good but definitely surrealistic.

All of these actually have good female protagonists (maybe not Texhnolyze) and Haibane Renmei pretty much exclusively has female characters.

You have to watch Claymore!!!

I’ve seen Paprika and I’ve heard of SEL before but I never got around to watching that.

I was watching Made In Abyss when it came out and the fan service annoyed the crap out of me.

Me

😒

It's episode 9, btw

I haven’t seen episode 8. Different time zones.

And no spoilers please 😊

Everybody dies
