I’m confused. Apple has, like, two apps that it charges for on its App Store. The rest are just the shit that comes with your phone or computer so you can download them if you ever deleted them (or never initially downloaded them) for whatever reason.

Why not start with Media and IT companies? These have more obvious effects on our society and are already hugely anti-competitive.

Tech companies shit all over the old guard media in the last decade.

Look at the consolidation in old media companies. There is about a half dozen companies left. They all have very cozy relationships with each other and rarely compete directly. They're fat and lazy and ripe for getting fucked by new players, like big tech companies.

Netflix and Amazon are two of the largest TV/movie studios now. Amazon is one of the largest boon publishers be ause of self-publishing.

So now the media are targeting tech companies with their control of the media narrative.

And they're all running "think pieces" about how big and evil tech companies are.

Amazon triggered the publishing industry by trying to bust up their monopoly, even the DoJ got involved, but eventually the publishers got their way and raised prices. Right after Amazon pissed them off guess who became "evil big tech company #1" in a hundred articles?
