Radicalisation is like "Feminist". It gives the wrong idea.
people say that you can be "brainwashed" but in most cases the person being radicalised is perfectly sane, meaning they know what they are getting into. Let's all admit, we have different views on different religion, sometimes bad. (I'm a Muslim myself I'm not aiming this at anyone just to clarify) but if someone wants to take action on that view, then why should we call it "radicalisation"? The dictionary definition of Radicalisation is "the action or process of causing someone to adopt radical positions on political or social issues." so does that mean we are ALL radicalised because i betcha more than half of us have radical positions on political, social or even religious issues.

I get it that mainly young people/teenagers would want to participate in terrorist/extremist activities but should we call them "radicalised"? They only want to do it for the popularity, "adrenaline, excitement and buzz." They would even want to do it to tell their friends "i'm part of (so and so)". I've encountered a few myself. and I know I have said this before but they know what they are getting into why should we call them radicalised as if they have been turned into a lizard. The term radicalisation sounds like an irreversible change. teenagers minds can change very easily, it could just be a phase you know. so for those special cases shouldn't we change it?

As for the older generation, adults and the like, there is no point of calling them Radicalised (referring back to the top) , it means having radical positions on political, social or even religious issues, however, if an adult does something harmful, even without a clear reason, we should just call them a terrorist ("a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims") not someone who is radicalised.
