My best guess is that May is only pretending to release the UK from the restrictions of EU while not actually leaving and Farage is upset because he actually wants the UK out.

Yeah, seems decent enough. A little puzzled as to why Farage is there at all, haven't heard of him in months. And the idea that Theresa May has any kind of decision-making power over Brexit is laughable at this point.

After he left UKIP he stayed as an independent MEP. He and several other ex-UKIP MEPs formed the Brexit Party.
