I'm gonna give you 1 super long seriouspost on this though I doubt it'll change anything.

I got to like 13-15 minutes into the video and the truth is that many points in the video are what I'd consider correct or well argued, and I don't disagree with as much as I thought I would. She even pretends to concede some points which is a great way to convince viewers that you're genuine.

You know what though? None of that matters, since 2:30 minutes in, Contra invalidates her entire video - her experience of GC feminists came from HER OWN AUDIENCE ON TWITTER (and some book from 1994 she allegedly read, so outdated shit) - of course they're gonna paint T3RFs as awful and terrible and stan their queen. Look at the T3RF persona she created - all black, horns, with dark atmosphere and weird accent. She portrays the T3RF as an evil creatures. She also makes cheap jokes about T3RFs throughout the video.

She claims she's gonna engage t3rfs with good faith but the entire video is based on biased opinions of her fans, old book and arguments she created. Yes, plenty of the arguments made in the video are the ones online T3RFs make, but she missed lot of them too. She's clearly biased and not arguing in good faith, which is funnily enough the same thing she (correctly) accuses right wingers of doing. The whole video is made to paint T3RFs as badly as possible and only use arguments she can "win" and avoid the ones people can easily pick on (though I'd argue there are still ones you could pick on).

Also, this is more of a speculation on my part, but I'm pretty sure she's sharing the scripts with her friends that have studies or have experience in movies (Dan Olson, Lindsay Ellis, Hbomb and others) who help her polish the arguments. Same goes for muh production, that skyrocketed, she clearly has people helping. And last but not least all the articles and videos in the press. I highly doubt they write them on their own impulse, again she has friends that have friends in the media (afformentioned ppl but also Zoe Quinn for example).

It's the same thing with socialism/communism arguments too. They largely correctly point out the capitalism's flaws, don't talk about the good things and completely avoid any sort of deeper discussion about socialism.

Why is nobody trying to figure out how, after you kill people in revolution or seize their assets, while the revolution is led by strong leaders, are you gonna establish a country where people don't have to fear you'll do the same to them? How are you gonna stop the revolutionary leaders already high on power from gaining power in the new system? What about all the foreign assets of the people you killed or seized, are you just gonna take someone's property in Europe or Asia? What about foreign trade if you want to abolish money, do you think you're gonna trade favorably? How are private citizens gonna order things worldwide? How are you gonna run companies that currently spend billions on reasearch like pharma, transport or semicondutor/tech companies? Massive coops are idiotic or straight up impossible, so state owned? Since everything should be provided for in communism, how will you stop people from consuming too much? Are you gonna control how much they consume through insane state control, or are you gonna use, like... you know, money that will limit them? Democracy, will people vote on every single issue that they have no deep understanding of directly or will they vote representatives? Police, I know usual response is some commune that works for people, how will you make sure they are trained as well as current officers? How will you stop them for power tripping, strict punishments for any wrongdoings? What about mistakes that people make daily, will you punish them for those too since often you can't tell what their motives were? Why would people even do this if any fuckup can cost them?

I forget what it’s called, but there’s this weird phenomenon where people will read a newspaper article about something that they’re an expert on, see that it’s complete bullshit, then move onto the next article and take it as fact. Even though they just proved to themselves that the paper they’re reading is comfortable publishing bullshit, as long as the article is on a subject that they’re not familiar with, they’ll blindly trust it.

I think that’s the case with these general subject “video essay” youtubers. They don’t lose fans even when they’re blatantly wrong about something because of this phenomenon.
