Does anyone else here use the YIKES! system?

Bahahhaha. This is totally individualized. First of all. And people don't change, second of all. You should never ever ever get online and preach again. You don't understand reality at all.

People are the exact same they were 1000 years ago, you fucking psycho. People don't change kid. Grow the fuck up and stop whining so much. Your life is your fault. You've been given opportunity most everyone from the past 20,000 years could only dream of. You're a loser and we didn't do it. We tried to help. You did it. You are that

That g-slur made me go “yikes.”

I'm not subbed here, so I can't speak to what the day-to-day discourse is like. But I will say, in my day-to-day shit talking as a white, hetero, male gamer that it is not uncommon to hear people say dumb bigoted stuff, and not just online. I don't have an IRL downvote button (is this a thing tho?), so I do what I can and call hate speech out when I hear it.

If you're looking for the answer to "but what do you want me to doooo?" I suggest the Yikes method. It probably won't do too much to slow down the 12 year old running his mouth on Xbox Live, but in the smaller gaming spaces we all spend time in, we can make a big difference. Whether it's your Discords, your buddy's couch, or your party chat where somebody says something beyond the pale, literally all you gotta do is tell them "Yikes... that's messed up because [opinion here]". Racism and misogyny deteriorate your internal Yikes meter, and we all owe it to one another to Yikes a friend who sounds like they need a tune up. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

any person with free-testosterone knows the only response to something that pathetic as that is to double-down

there's no way he's actually done that and achieved anything other than humilation

correct response to anything is to double down, stupid

I would never concede I'm wrong to a 'yikes'. Wouldn't be very hard to make me a flat earther

That's a big Y-slur from me d-slur

Has this individual been so skinner boxed that he wishes real life had a downvote button for bad opinions?

Well said, friendo. Similarly, I find a stern "this ain't it chief" stops the nazi hatespeech in its tracks.

this reply jfc

Wait i thought it was hilarious because it was ironic. Now I'm realizing it wasn't and I'm just cringing.

Why did you talk yourself out of the more obvious answer? :)

It's 100000% ironic, guarunteed

yeah that'll scare off the shit talkers. I prefer the Mark Hunt method of turning up at their house and trying to smash in the head of the 10 year olds dad

I got banned from SRD for my yikes skills...

Also calling one of the a f-slur p-slur.

It's an internet forum about video games.

They act like they are leaders of Europe (which doesn't require much brain power but still)
