Some of you clearly need help with this.

As-salamu Alaykum = Peace be upon you

Allahu akbar = Allah is greater (When I say Takbir!, you say...)

insha'allah = If Allah wills [it]

masha'allah = Allah has willed [it]

alhamdulillah = Praise to Allah

Istighfar = I seek forgiveness in Allah

This needs to be pinned. As a exmuzzie-cell myself, I’ve been seething seeing “inshallah” used as a substitute for all of these. It kind of ruins the joke imo.

Wrong. the word is Astaghfurallah, Get it right you uncultured swine

You are correct.

Astaghfurallah means "I seek forgiveness from Allah".

Istighfar is a verb which means the act of seeking forgiveness.

So when you say "Astaghfurallah" , you are preforming Istighfar.
