Men are typically more into the games that can be speedrun (the games with the most women are match-3 and simulation; every other genre is still male-dominated). Thus, more males.

This is a very unpopular opinion, but I also think that the tie between the transgender population and autism (specifically Asperger Syndrome) is too strong to be ignored. There's also a big overlap between people who speedrun and Aspies. See where I'm going with this?
