After wasting literally years of their lives on Mueller bullshit, r/Politics wastes money on gold on another "Daddy did obstruct justice" article. A few users mock the hivemind, get lynched. The COPE and SEETHING gets better.

I am a bot. (Info / Contact)

NY Review of Books is one of the last publications with a reputation to protect.

Maybe the politicstards are accidentally not completely wrong this time.

The report shows he definitely did obstruct justice and definitely did attempt to obstruct justice, both of which are big no-nos. Impeachment just isn't the way to go. Gotta wait til he's out of office and ring him up

unironic the_donald posters can't keep shouting no collusion, no obstruction forever, since that report is pretty permanent

Impeachment just isn't the way to go.

I have to wonder why. Republicans tried to stitch up Clinton over much less.

They won't have the votes and you can't beat Trump at political circus

The legal system is pretty solid (as seen by the entire Mueller report process, if for nothing else, America has a pretty swole justice system), let it walk through its process. Confine Trump to the rules of the court and you can win.

The Republicans tried but it either didn't work or backfired on them given that they lost house sheets in the 1998 and 2000 election, lost the senate in 2000, and only won the presidency against a robot of a candidate in an extremely fluky fashion.

Even if we look back to the successful impeachment of Nixon the Democrats didn't profit that much from it, aside from it maybe enhancing their victory in the 1974 house election and/or swinging the 1976 presidential election. Gerald Ford was a bland, uninspiring candidate in 1976 and nearly won anyway while the House and Senate basically didn't move in 1976 and 78. By 1980 we all know how Reagan performed and the GOP took the Senate. They didn't take the house but back then the Democrats still dominated the south and were therefore virtually immune to losing it.

The problem of impeaching Trump is that the Mueller investigation was relatively inconclusive and while it did portray him quite negatively I don't think it revealed anything we didn't already know or assume about him. Trump being a liar, corrupt, or incompetent is news to no one.

Serious post. Nixon wasn't impeached, he resigned before impeachment and Ford pardoned him. Only Clinton and Andrew Johnson have been impeached and neither successfully.

Derp. For some reason I thought that Nixon had resigned after he'd been impeached before he had a chance to be convicted, guess I should have Wiki'd harder.

No worries it's an easy mistake to make.

It's the most common gotcha question for political shows, that go to the streets to show how politically unaware people are.

DDF Activated!

Every other publication has tarnished its reputation over this. Why not this one too?

Privately, the two prosecutors, who were then employed in the special counsel’s office, told other Justice Department officials that had it not been for the unique nature of the case—the investigation of a sitting president of the United States, and one who tried to use the powers of his office to thwart and even close down the special counsel’s investigation—they would have advocated that he face federal criminal charges. I learned of the conclusions of the two former Mueller prosecutors not by any leak, either from them personally or from the office of special counsel. Rather, the two prosecutors disclosed this information in then-confidential conversations with two other federal law enforcement officials, who subsequently recounted what they were told to me.

That's basically what Barr said.

lmao anyone who thinks attempting impeachment is a good idea is drinking expired soy

Majority of Reddit is also spoiled brats who dare I say it? Rarely have had any hardships in their lives to give them any ability to really look at problems unbiasedly.

Based post at -38... Politics on full C O P E

I really want to see the dems go forward with impeachment for the Senate to not convict just to see what /r/politics will bitch about next.

No worries, elections are comming. Plenty of reeeeeeeing there

It's amusing to me how the Democrat rank and file keep getting played but are too stupid to realize it.

Just like how Pelosi sat on the Kavenaugh dirt before trying to make a big to-do about it prior to the mid-terms, they're going to sit on a motion to impeach until closer to the 2020 general election and they're going to be bullshit martyrs about it as well, "We didn't want to do it, but so many people demanded it... we had to listen to the voice of the people! wauuugh"

In both cases they knew (know) they don't have shit and aren't going to win, but the circus itself is useful to them, so they'll hold off until it's a good time to prop up the dog and pony show.

It's so fucking transparent, I don't get how their base isn't mortally offended at being treated like such simps. Actually, scratch that, considering these are also the people who want to castrate themselves for having toxic masculinity and white privilege, I guess it's not surprising. Just depressing is all.

Look I don't know anyone who truly thinks the mueller report does anything other thannshow unequivocal proof of collusion and illegal obstruction.

I've read thousands of /r/politics comments sorting by top and never seen a single one. That tells you something. All my friends irl too, since i stopped speaking to trump supporters/libertarians/christians/ the working class/ people with natural hair colors who just support white supremacy and buy into russian talking points.

Its simple evidence. Listen to stephen colbert, he breaks it down in a humerous way.

I've read thousands of /r/politics comments sorting by top

At least I will never be this stupid

Look /r/politics is fair and balanced. Downvotes are only used on russian bot trolls. They're kinda obvious because they argue against late term abortions and outlawing the Republican party and argue for evil nefarious things like gun rights and lowering taxes.

I'd even argue it has a conservative slant. For instance, whenever the topic of immigration comes up some people always chime in and say we should have borders.

But... It did. It explicitly punted to the AG and Congress.

No way in hell pelosi moves to impeach him immediately prior to the election given trump's unpopularity. She knows its far safer to just vote him out. Kavanaugh is sitting for life, it was their last chance. Not exactly comparable situations from a strategic standpoint.

She’ll move to impeach both Drumpf and Pence so that the Senate can vote to her in power. Let her take office for like a week and then the New Democratic President will be in power.

the absolutely funniest thing is how BADLY it keeps going. Trump's the highest approval he's had since months into his presidency right now (back within single digits of approval/disapproval) that's been trending up since Kavannaugh. It's like they don't realize that the Starr Report is the reason Clinton basically WON last time around in this game.

Daddy's gonna be enjoying the white house for at least 6 years at this rate.

Wait you actually believe this?

Dude I'm a Republican but don't suffer enough from severe hypoxia to think this.

Every other comment either starts with some “this is the final straw” type dramatic shit or ends with some over the top call to action.

"Let's be clear here"

makes me want to punt a puppy when i see it

I like how, after the full release of the report, wokereddit immediately pivoted to "the Mueller investigation was never going to prove Trump's guilt".

I hope you realize that a great majority of Reddit's userbase is from the US

So yes, the majority of Reddit also translates to the majority of America (:

This guy thinks reddit represents america.

If this is true then Yellowstone eruption can’t come quickly enough.

These are the people that places like /r/EnlightenedCentrism have on their side. Really gets the noggin joggin.

They're oppressing us radical centrists.

No claims of oppression, maybe just a good time for them to sit down and be reminded they don't have it all together their own damn selves.

Jesus christ look at this guys post history.
