Not everyone sees her character in the same way. Personally I've always loved her character but others hate her, it is what it is. You think she tortures people but I see it as her method of execution, just as other rulers behead traitors, she uses fire as her weapon. And her obsession for the iron throne comes for her will to get revenge for the massacre of her family. Yes, she is obsessed with it, but not because she wants power, because she sees it as a representation of home and finally bringing justice to the Targaryens.

What did they do wrong? The only people she has executed are the ones who committed crimes. The Tarlys committed treason, punishment for treason is death. The masters she crucified had crucified hundreds of innocent children. And she left her conquest for the throne to come fight the white walkers up north. She agreed to fight with the north before Jon bent the knee (watch 7x06). Sure she's made mistakes, she's a morally grey character like most but comparing her to Hitler is just wrong.
