The reasons those other subs failed is because of their lack of good moderation. Was your play just to lock the sub perminantly? What did you think would happen when your little stop gap was done? Only one of us actually reported him and I don’t know why you guys keep on saying we “massflagged” him. We have one post on r/RedditRequest asking for control over the subreddit and one report to the admins about his behaviour. We didn’t do “massflag” him. The intent wasn’t really to get him off of Reddit as a whole but just to get him off of r/ArabFunny so that we would be able to handle the subreddit the way we know it should be handled. If he does end up getting permabanned then so be it, he’s got many alternate accounts (like the ones he planned to use in order to circumvent a site-wide ban due to violation of TOS) he can use.
The idea wasn’t to lock the sub forever, it was to lock it for a good amount of time (e.g. maybe a month), then open it for again. The idea only came up after the influx of new subscribers from the Cartoon Network hack. The entire mod team is on the same page apart from Nick because he’s too busy suppressing our views, inputs, and votes on the matter. He doesn’t want to listen to us so his solution is to ban us all. We want what’s best for the subreddit and i’m sure Nick has good intentions aswell but he doesn’t want to listen to us.
The thing about ArabFunny content is that bad content is too easy make and good content is too difficult to make. That wasn’t a problem when the subreddit first started off because we were only a small group of people and the people on the subreddit actually know what the concept of the subreddit was and as a result quality content could be produced. Nowadays, everything on there is completely unoriginal and often doesn’t even get a laugh from me. There haven’t been any new good content creators on the subreddit in a while and I don’t know the explanation to that but I doubt any new ones will arise considering the state of the subreddit right now. If “obama nokia ringtone click bell icon” becomes every single meme on the subreddit then it begins to lose its charm. No one wants to see the same joke made over and over and just because something doesn’t neccicaraly break subreddit rules doesn’t mean it should be considered “good content”.

It's too easy to make shitty arabfunnies, and difficult to make good ones, and the kind of people who like making shitty ones can't tell the difference.
People seemed to enjoy the concept of the subreddit, shown by its quick growth. It can work but we really need more restrictions. I know Nick likes to say “we aren’t lazy we can just remove bad posts” but once again take a good hard look at OKBR one year ago and today. A subreddit without established rules (strictness depending on the sub) just can’t work at all and if Nick wants to keep enforcing a “barely any rules” type thing then ArabFunny is done for within the next month or two.

All we wanted was to lock the sub and we only wanted to lock the sub because of the inevetable “normification” of the subreddit. He refused to lock the sub and demodded the user who suggested it, and that’s what started the whole controversy. Yes we got mad, obviously, becuase he’s not listening to anyone on the subreddit. Imagine thinking mass reporting someone for minor infractions would actually work in getting them permabanned. Imagine thinking the admins can't see who's reporting. If they actually look into this situation you retards will potentially be the ones permabanned.
The reasons those other subs failed is because of their lack of good moderation. Was your play just to lock the sub perminantly? What did you think would happen when your little stop gap was done? The sub would continue right down the same path. The only way to fix it is get the whole mod team on the same page and actually mod instead of acting like catty bitches and spending your time sucking eachother's dicks on discord

Only one of us actually reported him and I don’t know why you guys keep on saying we “massflagged” him. We have one post on r/RedditRequest asking for control over the subreddit and one report to the admins about his behaviour. We didn’t do “massflag” him. The intent wasn’t really to get him off of Reddit as a whole but just to get him off of r/ArabFunny so that we would be able to handle the subreddit the way we know it should be handled. If he does end up getting permabanned then so be it, he’s got many alternate accounts (like the ones he planned to use in order to circumvent a site-wide ban due to violation of TOS) he can use.
The idea wasn’t to lock the sub forever, it was to lock it for a good amount of time (e.g. maybe a month), then open it for again. The idea only came up after the influx of new subscribers from the Cartoon Network hack. The entire mod team is on the same page apart from Nick because he’s too busy suppressing our views, inputs, and votes on the matter. He doesn’t want to listen to us so his solution is to ban us all. We want what’s best for the subreddit and i’m sure Nick has good intentions aswell but he doesn’t want to listen to us.
The thing about ArabFunny content is that bad content is too easy make and good content is too difficult to make. That wasn’t a problem when the subreddit first started off because we were only a small group of people and the people on the subreddit actually know what the concept of the subreddit was and as a result quality content could be produced. Nowadays, everything on there is completely unoriginal and often doesn’t even get a laugh from me. There haven’t been any new good content creators on the subreddit in a while and I don’t know the explanation to that but I doubt any new ones will arise considering the state of the subreddit right now. If “obama nokia ringtone click bell icon” becomes every single meme on the subreddit then it begins to lose its charm. No one wants to see the same joke made over and over and just because something doesn’t neccicaraly break subreddit rules doesn’t mean it should be considered “good content”.

People seemed to enjoy the concept of the subreddit, shown by its quick growth. It can work but we really need more restrictions. I know Nick likes to say “we aren’t lazy we can just remove bad posts” but once again take a good hard look at OKBR one year ago and today. A subreddit without established rules (strictness depending on the sub) just can’t work at all and if Nick wants to keep enforcing a “barely any rules” type thing then ArabFunny is done for within the next month or two.
Hate to advertise- but if you are interested in ArabFunny type content- would you mind subscribing to r/WorldFunnies? It’s the “refugee” subreddit for ArabFunny since Nick is probably gonna kill it.
