It seems they often keep getting off with a slap on the wrist until they rape or a kill woman and then when it's too late they finally get a severe punishment.

I love how they start to dig harsh sentencing as soon as a hot-button-issue villain is on the receiving end. The consensus among ethicists is that deterrence is a morally bankrupt doctrine, and the consensus on the empirical data is that harsher sentencing doesn't work. Punishment certainty is more potent than punishment severity.

That’s the annoying part, they redefined the term to mean “person I don’t like.”

It’s the same with neckbeard, the term used to mean someone who is sort of an underachiever, yet has an unchecked ego, but Reddit likes to redefine the term with this whole “It’s not the beard on the outside that counts, it’s the beard on the inside.”

So now it essentially means “Person I don’t like.” Both terms used to mean something, but now it’s useless, it might as well mean someone who is into trucks or MMA or some shit.
