People aren't supposed to be perfect and everyone will make mistakes at one point or another in their life, but when you don't learn anything from these mistakes because you're just that self-centered and feel bad for a few days and then forget it, then there's a problem and you're more of a parasite hurting others (or killing them, when it comes to abortion) for sport than anything else. In fact, I'd say that it's the ability to learn from our mistakes that makes us worthwhile beings in the first place. So when people's ego and their "wants" (not to be confused with one's "needs" that are often completely different) become more important than this drive to learn and improve, you start having a real societal problem.
