So I'm gonna drive 8 hours on Monday and I won't have anyone else in the car. What's some good podcasts I should listen to? Nothing too political, I wanna escape politics for a day.
Also i have Spotify so if you have any good album recommendations, hit me.

Freakomomics podcasts are pretty good and informative while being devoid of politics.

I dunno, he had that IMF episode where he was practically jerking LaGarde off for saying "diversity is good but also women are better employees"
1 trappysaruh 2019-05-25
lol the IMF episode, after the koch episode is what made me drop instantly drop freakonomics

That podcast went downhill when Levitt stopped being involved. Then it became Dubner jerking off he interviews.

Where’s the lie?

Sadly it's been archived on Stitcher Premium but all the links are on YouTube for free.

Casefile
Hardcore History
Uh. Idk. I’m really picky with podcasts.
1 Osterion 2019-05-25
Lmao
1 TaysSecondGussy 2019-05-25
I know, I know, but I like him.
Picky as in there will be podcasts I know I should like in theory, but just can’t get into at all.
1 Osterion 2019-05-25
Which ones?
1 TaysSecondGussy 2019-05-25
That’s the thing, I’ll get a podcast Rec and I can’t finish an episode. It’s usually just the host’s approach. The most recent one was that...Last podcast on the left? I think? I legitimately hate all of the dudes on that show, most obnoxious thing I’ve heard in my life.
I’m open to try some though if you have suggestions.

I'm mostly into history pods, but they're not really worth listening to unless it's really something you're passionate about. They're not hosted by great story tellers like Carlin, but they're way better in every other way.
Imo, the best history podcast in existence is the History of Byzantium. There's no other podcast that uses such a deep well of both primary and secondary sources. He also interviews real historians. There's nothing else quite like it.
I would also recommend When diplomacy Fails and Revolutions.
The History of the Crusades is also okay, even thro its hosted by a foid
1 TaysSecondGussy 2019-05-25
Thank you, saving the comment. I’ll check Byzantium first, think I’ve heard of it.

Yeah, its considered the successor series of Mike Duncan's history of Rome series, which isn't bad either, even thro it's very normie. Rob Pierson just honestly surpasses Duncan in every way.
1 TaysSecondGussy 2019-05-25
Gotcha. I do like Rome shit.
1 Wheretheflowersgrew 2019-05-25
His fucking voice though. Also too many fucking retards recommend him.
1 TaysSecondGussy 2019-05-25
I shan’t apologize. I am a proud tard.
Totally understandable though.
1 Wheretheflowersgrew 2019-05-25
Didnt mean just you, literally any mention of ww1 on reddit some cunt will shill his annoying overly dramatic podcast.
1 TaysSecondGussy 2019-05-25
Yeah. He is super mainstream and very Reddit. 😔
1 Wheretheflowersgrew 2019-05-25
Yeah he was better when he was underground and still shooting heroin.

Boofing straight fent at punk collectives.

Harmontown starting with episode 1? Dan Harmon is the guy behind Community and Rick and Morty. He has a podcast with p good guests and they have a dungeons and dragons segment that's p good.
The guy himself is a complete alcoholic trainwreck and I think it only gets political once Drumpf appears on the scene.
I got into it when he used it as a stage to share private correspondence with Chevy Chase after some spat they had on community that made headlines.
1 Burnnoticelover 2019-05-25
Dan Harmon is an autistic manchild
Don’t @ me

Replyall is great. It's basically about internet phenomena and technology
Hardcore history is rad. Its super in depth and the host is amazing.
How did this get made? A good podcast about horrible movies and why anyone took the time to make them
Discraceland. It tells anarcdotes about controversies in the careers of musicians
RISK! is a podcast where regular people tell their stories. Sometimes sad, sometimes funny and usually they're fucking crazy. It can be hit or miss sometimes though
Last podcast on the left. Part comedy/part conspiracy theory expose
1 Wheretheflowersgrew 2019-05-25
I like the content, but I can't stand the hosts.

1 Honk4Tits 2019-05-25
Last Podcast on the Left, mostly about serial killers but also cults and other weird shit.
1 le_epic_xd_part_2 2019-05-25
Try out the supermegacast for some childish banter!
1 TheColdTurtle 2019-05-25
This, it is two boys who might be white supremacists (they are from South Carolina) talking about last man standing and Tim Allen
1 LightUmbra 2019-05-25
This is a no podcast zone.
1 Wheretheflowersgrew 2019-05-25
I enjoy Caspian report, but they're short and basic so you'd need to download a bunch.
1 serialflamingo 2019-05-25
Cum Town is the only good podcast.
1 trappysaruh 2019-05-25
last podcast on the left- its not about politics despite its name lol. its podcast about serial killers, with a comedy element
1 charming_tatum 2019-05-25
Have you checked out Caustic Soda? It's like Last Podcast on The Left but not as annoying...still a little annoying though because it's done by Canadians
1 trappysaruh 2019-05-25

1 ManBearFridge 2019-05-25
Comedy Bang Bang if you are into comedy. Goofy show that has a celebrity guest interview followed by an improv character to interact with them.
Wouldn't recommend watching in order or randomly if you never listened, just find an episode with a guest or comedian you are interested in.
Also, Conan O'Brian just started a podcast this year. It's amazing, but of course you need to like Conan and it helps to be interested in the comedy biz.
1 charming_tatum 2019-05-25
Oh I forgot a good one, Flash Forward. They take recent technology or technology on the horizon and forecast a hypothetical situation of how it might drastically impact the world and they also go into detail explaining the technology or phenomena. It's like one part black mirror episode and 1 part technology explanation
1 Burnnoticelover 2019-05-25
Binge Planet Money.
1 NumerousEvent 2019-05-25
Planet Money and The Indicator are consistently good.
