Totally unrelated, but we should put price controls on shoes. Shoea are a vital necessity and everyone needs them, but not everyone can afford them. So we should make a law that you can't sell shoes for more than a penny. The only reason companies would stop selling shoes here would be Chinese economic sabotage or something.
These are the same people who believe that socialist countries never suffered economic crises but also those nations weren't socialist.
Socialism is totally superior but somehow economic blockade by capitalist nations is responsible for socialist nations failing even though actually these nations are doing very well.
Never mind that their pet nations are part of the WTO and trade globally.
They'll scream about Cuba's HDI but ignore Chile and the other 4 nations that beat it.
Who is making the shoes is immaterial really to the problem with ~Chavez's~ our price controls on ~food~. What matters is that anyone manufacturing shoes can't break even.
Which means if you want production to continue in volume you have to heavily subsidize ~shoe~ production like everything else you have price controls on, and because of that have to limit shoe production and sales based against increasing inflation.
A military coup will do nothing to fix Venezuela's problems. It will be a repeat of what has historically happened whenever the USA did a coup in a socialist South America country.
At least the right wing's defense of its fav dictators usually takes the form of "based Pinochet" and stale helicopter memes instead of walls of texts and passive aggressive pedantism.
