Thing is, if you frame mass wealth redistribution programs in terms of class and not race, about half of Americans support it. But if you frame it in terms of race, less than 20% of Americans support it. And it's the only proposed anti-racist measure that poor whites are less likely to support than upper class whites. Proposing a measure that's class and not race based would create criticisms of "class reductionism" for essentially wanting to ensure that money goes to the people who actually need it. Essentially they would be fucking over working-class black people who would still get the money under a class-based redistribution, something that has far broader support, because the black upper class wants to buy another yacht.
