They dont even have knowledge of their own arguements. I meet a comrade a hour ago, and we sat and had a bried discussion. He told me that he is organized with a group of university leftists, and i aksed, knowing that they would be utopian petty bourgeosie socialist, their position. He said that they are of different shades. Some are trots, some are marxists. I said leave the trots out, are the marxists true marxists? He said yes, they do what marx said. And then i laugh and i said this is not marxism, this is what marx said not to do, as the dialectical and materialist method requires different analisys over time as the conditions changes. And i said they were utopians. He denied it, and then i asked two simple questions. His group's opinion on soviet union and china. He said about soviet union, that it was good under lenin, and bad under stalin. I said why, and he said that unders stalin it was state capitalism. I said that this is false, and this was the case under lenin and nep, and he denied it. "You dont know even your own history, yet you critisize koba. Lets say that soviet union was state capitalist under stalin. You said that under lenin it was better, and your reasoning is that under stalim it was state capitalism. But this was the case under lenin. So, i dont really understand your critizism beyong romanticizing with lenin"
At this point he was irritated, and i chose to leave it at that. I asked then about china. "China is fascst, capitalist state. The people are hungry." "care to give some sources?" "Well, many sources!" "Sources, or at least resoning about why it is a capitalist country?" "It haves private property." "Well, the cuba must be capitalist to, as it haves capitalist property also, and it never hidet it. Even fidel admitet it." Guess what he said then. "Well, in cuba, there is not as much property as in china" "Do you realize that china haves 1.3 billion people, and cuba 10 milion people? If there are 100 bourgs in cuba, automatically, if we speak relatively, china haves 13000."
He stood silent. And he said this "What about the people who dont have to eat? What about them?"
"Well, i know that under mao the 70% of the population was under poverty, but today this amount to nonly 4% and its keeps deacreaisng. So i dont understand why you argue about poverty and hunger. These issues cannot be resolved in one day. But the signs are positive."
