this sub liked to make fun of r/movies types who only like superhero movies and call everything else pretentious. Now it seems like its filled with capeshit lovers who call everything else pretentious.
That's this whole fucking site and not just with movies. Reddit went from hating buzzfeeed/obama/cnn to absolutely adoring them all. Shit reddit even likes the Bush family now.
A bunch of people in that thread are clamoring for daily unjerk threads, as if the whole sub isn't just seriousposting thinly veiled with a snarky tone lmao.
Why is it that every circle jerk subreddit is always so fucking bad? Is it because they're always innfested with Chapo zoomers? Is it just the reddit faggotry?
Naw you pretty much got it. Nearly all of the long time circlejerk subs have fallen by the wayside because of how 'woke' all of Reddit has become.
You used to be able to go into mcj or gcj and watch people shitpost non stop. Mcj ironically enough used to be funny when they were making fun of how snobbish and uptight /r/movies acted before they started dry humping everything capeshit.
Just sad. Very suspicious how wokeness has to coincide with humorless support of common denominator crap. Idk what it means but I don’t like the smell of it all.
This place is literally nothing but a left-wing circle jerk at this point. Of course everyone not a left-winger is getting downvoted.
You've all made it very obvious. There is indeed space between TD (Which I don't think I've ever even posted on) and SRD, which this place has become. Sort by controversial. Any post picking on women or the left, is controversial. Most posts picking on men and the right, are not.
It's not like you guys are even trying to hide it. You've been posting BRDs for days. Sharia Blue has a heavy presence here, including among the mods, and BRD posts are the mods signalling that this sub is now fallen to the fempire. Hence why any post mocking a woman is suddenly downvoted, and a ton of weird SRD leftist shit is getting upvoted.
Bird=BRD=Bring Reddit Down; a SRS meme. Try to deny it by calling it out in plain sight, but it is what it is.
It's time for anyone else just plain leave this sub, block its regulars and go hang out in bigger, better subs, because if every place is a partisan circlejerk (and this place definitely has been for the last few months), we're better off in our own circlejerk subs, like CringeAnarchy, which is a lot bigger than place, and no more or less full of retards. /r/drama is just SRS/CB2 circlejerking at this point. Literally nothing they say makes sense, but they all frantically upvote each other and downvote anyone else.
I won't be interacting with any of you further on this post. You know what's happening here. It's very obvious."
mcj started out as a very contrarian sub. But reddit is contrarian by its very nature so the only way mcj could continue to be contrarian is by becoming normie and stanning Disney properties.
It was a pretty hilarious sub till TLJ came around and ever since it's been a Chapo/SRD shithole (there was literally a comment about /r/drama there where the users called it a shithole and defended SRD, they're not good at hiding).
It's been called O'Sullivan's First Law: any online space that is not explicitly conservativeFN eventually becomes a left-wing circlejerk.
FN Or radically centrist.
It probably has to do with the old "conservatives think liberals are dumb; liberals think conservatives are evil" observation -- lefties jerk it harder because they think they're saving the world when they make a meta post screeching about how evil sexist "drunkenblumpkin420" thinks Mozart was a better musician than Cardi B.
They want to be edgy and they keep pushing themselves further who can be the edgiest. Offending people seems to be bonus points on them. It seems a really niche crowd who enjoy them and I don't entirely get iteither.
Circlejerk subs can be funny when they’re joking about what the original sub was based off of, ie r/SopranosCirclejerk is funny because it focuses on the Sopranos. When they start making jokes about the sub then it’s uusally just people who the normal sub couldn’t tolerate anyways
Progressives subconsciously want a space where they can make jokes that aren't 100% acceptable, so they create these spaces since it's supposed to be a free for all. But then someone makes a joke that they're offended by, and suddenly they're back to their old habits. It happens to every subreddit/forum.
I just miss the past, I feel like older generations watching everything turn to shit, but faster. The internet had so much promise, and now it's a convoluted cluster fuck of everyone's self importance and none of the connection or shared experience and wisdom it once seemed to offer.
This, since everybody is trying to watch what they say now instead of just typing dumb shit and not taking it too seriously, plus moving from specific boards/forums to massive sites with millions of users meant you had to add things like block features, tagging and other shit that helps you recognize "undesirables", which funnily enough resulted in huge platforms turning into bigger echo chambers than some small forum ever could've been.
2006-2010 was the golden age of the internet. In 2011 it slowly started going downhill and it’s been picking up speed and becoming more and more garbage tier with every passing year.

Can we at least go back to hating buzzfeed and cnn?

I like hating everything. Garfield's character is my soul guide, barring the eating disorder.

Surprised they didn't go the r/gamingcirclejerk route and keep jerking till everyone tolerable left. Good for them

Yeah I'm impressed with those two mods.

I suspect Zoomers trying to imitate the cozy rarditry of 7-10 years ago and failing miserably for a few reasons.
I’m not like an expert tho. Some olderfag around here prob has a better opinion.

It's because most of sub specific circkejerk went the woke lefty way.

Correct. Reddit faggotry is like the zombie disease of reddit. It infects all the weak subs.

The fate of every sub is to become /pol/-lite (and thus banning) or yet another boring CB2 clone.
