That's like saying "I don't notice the sun coming up every morning"

So for you youts who aren't familiar, listen.

marley sucks, david

If it's not obscure, it should be. What a rambling mess of a 'song'

Are you getting hype for The Wheel of Time show? The lead actress they've casted is A-list and the director of the 1st 2 episodes has a strong pedigree and she's also one of the producers

I'm skeptical but will remain cautiously optimistic. I've more often than not felt let down buy book to movie adaptations, and especially one some long and complex as this I'm skeptical that Amazon will put enough money into to make it work, or else they'll just want to condense it down too much. The special effects required, the huge cast of characters, it's just such a huge undertaking.

But I understand that Harriet and Brandon are on board as consulting producers, and I have faith that they both want it to be the best it can be.

So, cautiously optimistic.

I'm cautiously optimistic as well. They've made a lot of good decisions so far and with the filming schedule released today it seems like Amazon is fully invested. I basically think Amazon is aiming to be what people subscribe to when it comes to scifi/fantasy. They're producing LOTR, The Dark Tower, WoT and they've acquired the Expanse so they can basically air a huge series in the scifi/fantasy genre each quarter...they did this so people stay subscribed throughout the year and to me that means they're 100% in.

The director who's also signed on as a producer is pretty damn good too. She's shot some of the best West World episodes but what sold me on her was that she was the cinematographer for The Wire which is a great show and the way its shot really helps set the mood

The skeptical part of me wonders who could possibly play Cadsuane or Sorilea? Or is the tv show just going to leave them out or downplay how important they are in the story?

A venn diagram between actresses who are that good and who could possibly be that understanding of what those characters are about is 0 or maybe or 1 or 2.

Judi Dench is the only one I can think of, and I feel like even she couldn't do it because it would take even greater than A list actors who really had understood and cared about the story to be able to portray the characters.

So, skeptical, but wishing for the best.

Cadsuane definitely wont be left out and she will be played by the mom from Arrested Development. Kind of joking but then again she's a great actress it would just be hard to see her in any role except AD or Archer's mom

So we both know they have to make some major cuts, right? If we lose a major character I'd want it to be Min. Ultimately out of Rand's 3 wives she is the most useless to the story. Her power can be given to Elayne because fortelling already exists for aes sedai and the only other truly important role she plays is being there for Rand, especially when he hardened up and got kind of dark. That could easily be split between Avi and Elayne or even given to one of the other Aes Sedai around him.
