It was because my mom was addicted to opiates and my dad was an alcoholic and a manipulative piece of shit and I would spend my nights and weekends taking care of everyone at home, and then both of my parents had gotten cancer by the time I was 14, and I had gotten myself on CHIP by 16 and was very involved in my family's finances as well.
I actually sought out older guys because I felt like my "adult life" needed to become more real.
