I'm also working on a theory that is in progress, but I believe I have classified a type of internet retard that is well-known but grossly ignored. If they have been categorized in the "Known Types of Internet Retards", please correct me. Yes, Pizzashill does fit this category, but did not inspire my hatred of this type of Internet Retard. You see, I used to be this internet retard, so my need to identify this phenomena is more of a need to recognize the worst aspects of myself and to recover accordingly.
I name them, "Debbies", short for "Internet Debaters", and they just might be lower on the totem pole of life forms than jannies.
Debbies scour the internet for threads that fit some niche topic that they can argue against. They will not stop until they finally found some unsuspecting comment that only narrowly fits their prepared topic, and will proceed to dump a wall of text.
Debbies keep well-organized folders of sources that they can dump on any unsuspecting commenter in an internet forum. They will spend literally hours devising a 3000 word argument complete with sources and references just for the possibility to get 1-2 upvotes and the feeling of satisfaction when their opponent doesn't respond.
Debbies are completely unaware that wearing someone down with their inability to walk away from a comment doesn't equal winning the argument.
Debbies can't go 10 minutes without reminding you they rely solely on facts and logic to form their opinions, but every discussion they have that goes longer than their prepared argument quickly devolves into a battering of insults and enraged emotional outburst.
Debbies have memorized a list of hundreds of logical fallacies that they pretend to understand and recognize so that they can attempt to invalidate any response at will with as little effort as possible.
Debbies will refresh their browser for up to 3-5 hours after leaving a comment in dire need of upvotes to validate their effort.
This is all I could think of right now. If you can think of more qualities to help classify Debbies, please let me know.
