"Getting a life" or "having sex" simply is impossible for many internet users, especially the ones who are disproportionately likely to be told to do so. They may have a crippling mental illness, they may have a viral disease and be unable to leave a quarantine for the safety of everyone else, they may be a teenager living in a very strict family that represses them socially, or countless other things about which you haven't even bothered to ask. In the absence of being able to "get a life" or to "have sex", they have chosen to promote with the means available to them what they believe to be good. As a matter of fact, doing this can actually improve their lot in life. For example, I have been helped by my posting on this subreddit to become more confident socially, with many of my methods being adopted from this subreddit but modified to various degrees to fit my circumstances. I can say without a doubt that, had I not discovered this subreddit instead of "having sex", I would be in a significantly worse position than I am today.
