Why are people suggesting a fucking rifle to defend inside the home? Or a shot gun when he has 3 dogs, a cat, and a fiancee? Just a handgun both can use, these people get too into their over-kill. Going be nailing your household with spread or catching the barrel on some random furniture piece.
Rifles are so much easier to shoot accurately than pistols, especially under stress. They also require less training and a 5.56 rifle is so much better for your foid. An SBR/AR pistol would be ideal with the whole furniture stuff.
Under both the front and back welcome mats. I also have claymores strung and aimed at all ground level windows and release poisonous snakes into the house at night.
