I am all alone (poor me) in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal on desperately needed Border Security. At some point the Democrats not wanting to make a deal will cost our Country more money than the Border Wall we are all talking about. Crazy!
Anyone who has ever interacted with contractors/project managers knows that they are rough around the edges. I work with these types every day and they aren’t there to hold your hand. If you’re a giant pussy, you aren’t gonna cut it.
Most of the time they're genuinely nice people too. But they move fast and expect the most out of you. People used to everyone bowing down and fawning over their every issue never cut it and always are the ones whining about toxic work culture.
Right? This is your profession, and the person you are working with has a life to support, a family to feed etc. This isn't cocktail hour with your buddies, do your fucking job without whining.
If you focus on what actually happened, this was just a normal business conference in which different parties try to find common ground:
A, B and C have a discussion before the conference. A is B's boss. C is from another party.
B, C and D, E, and F have a conference. B talks about said topic again. C said they discussed this with A already and B should talk to A first.
C, D, E and F move on.
Now B is somehow pissed, because while A is B's superiour, B thinks that B is quite smart Bself. B thinks this is the reason why there are no more Bs in STEM.
B even seems in the wrong here. And even if B was not in the wrong, this is a completely normal conference.
The problem seems that A, B and C agreed on something already, and either B or C forgot. This is also why you always write a protocol. Assuming that B is right, she should just tell C "Yes, I discussed this with my superior A already. We decided to tell D and ask what D wants". There literally is not a single problem. It is not even rude to say this. Now C either embarrassed himself, or he actually was right and B embarrassed herself. I fail to see how gender is even relevant. That is literally her job. That is like saying: "As a male teacher, today I have to explain to students how stuff works. Fuck this discrimination of men! This is why there are so few males in teaching!"
Only a foid would consider leaving her job because a guy was like “yo Deborah we already discussed this mind if we keep the conversation moving forward”
I don't think a lot of people realize how unhinged these foids are. There was a foid at my friends coding boot camp that showed up to teach a "social empathy" class and she claimed everyone at her job was trying to gaslight her because they challenged a claim she made.
100% wrong. Its philosophy. I've never met a person happy they went and studied philosophy. Its incredibly competitive, highly political, the pay is shit, there are practically no women or minorities to speak of, and nobody gives a shit.
At least a sociologist can get a minor in communications and get paid a 6 figure salary as a diversity officer in some tech start up.
I'm just finishing my master's in philosophy at the moment. Its really fun and intellectually stimulating but god damn I would rather be a hobo than go any further with it.
Typically a philosophy undergrad correlates with pretty decent income prospects from every analysis I have seen. If you want to be an academic philosopher though yeah you are probably fucked unless you get tenure or some equivalent.
If you want to study analytic philosophy (the chad version) I feel you have to be quite argumentative and details minded. Sadly that doesn't guarantee you have the social awareness to tone it down when you aren't doing philosophy.
This means you end up with like 20% of them being insufferable autists
I member a shitty CRUD app was put out for contract at my job. The fuckers built it using dojo. Dojo. In 2018. 2018. Fucking dojo for SPA web app. Reee
Can be. Men tend to be friendlier if a woman is on the conference, too.
Actually, there was a discussion that this might be bad for women. All men are extra careful around them, so they can't make connections as good as men.
This might even be a legitimate point. I am not judging. Just pointing it out.
They may just want to avoid getting in trouble, women are a magnet for HR nonsense that wastes time
I got dragged into an HR meeting because a female coworker was criticizing some wonky AC installation, calling it "a man's job". I was in charge of secure rooms, and happened to walk by as she fired out this epic comment in front of her boss. Boss was not impressed, so all three of us went to HR.
Why me? Oh, because I am a victim now of course! So half a days work goes down the shitter in some retard meeting, half a day of a limited time contract that has a collateral clause.
A foid I worked with shit chatted me behind my back for hating another foid and refusing to give money for a birthday gift so I told her to fuck herself to her face, she cried, reported to manager and they implied I dont like women in the meeting.
I mean, I dont generally like women, but it was actually more personal than that so she was wrong.
Telling someone to fuck themself in a work place goes down well zero percent of the time. A less spergtastic approach would be to report her to your manager.
I didnt actually say 'go fuck yourself', I was following the rules of the sub. What I actually did was ask her not to interrupt a conversation I was having about the cakes she was trying to show off to me because they were Harry Potter.
I didnt realise I needed to explain to the rest of the incels here that foids cant handle even the tiniest amount of confrontation, no matter how polite it is.
I dunno how few interactions with a woman it takes to come to the sort of permavirgin shit your pushing, but most women I've met have just acted like every other person.
I mean, women exploiting a sexist system to get people sat down by their manager, that's nothing new — men do it to given the chance. But all women are liars, cheaters and whores, fragile, etc?
the reason they're extra careful is cuz they want le sex
Yes. This is exactly why I think that this is entirely believable.
I can see how everyone is friendly to you because of this. And I can also see how this makes it harder for you to get a "bro" relationship with your co-workers in which you support each other and help each other to get promoted together.
this is literally the problem. moids switch to their estrogen voices and give them training wheels when a womyn is around so its perfectly reasonable for a trollx landwhale to think all human interactions should be like that 24/7
It's always a male client with less than a hs education but they've been elevated by white male privilege to a union job, which gives them a mindset of entitlement and arrogance. Not STEM specific, of course, but same.
Every person I have met who has waved around their degree when complaining about "less qualified coworkers" has turned out to be a loser with nothing else on their resume complaining about a highly certified professional in a field not studied in universities.
Many of those professionals actually turned out to have degrees in other fields, too.
when a female engineer speaks to senior project staff: they all double over laughing while lighting cigars and joking about her tits
when a male engineer speaks to senior project staff: everyone drops to their knees and bows their heads to receive the wisdom they're about to be blessed with
I immediately muted my mic to keep from saying something I shouldn't. I kept the rest of my responses short, and hung up as soon as the topic changed.
Is this an adult foid or a teenage one?
She didn't express her disagreement, no one knew she was seething, then she hung up early to cope.
Next, she's going to moan that decisions have been made without her. But she hung up, so what are they meant to do? If everyone else on the call was male, it wouldn't even register as if anything contentious had happened.
Ughhhh watching these faggots type out a dissertation about their white privilege before commenting on anything and everything on Reddit makes me want to scramble the little brain I have left with a drill. I’m simultaneously coping and seething in equal amounts. Plz hlp
This individual tends to be combative and abrasive when discussing the project, perhaps forgetting we are all on a team.
But somehow, she never complained until it happend to her.
(Pro tip: If you do not like a co-worker, only complain when he does something rude to someone else. This way you are already two people complaining about his rude behavior.)
In my experience the women are usually treated like saints by the men. Like they will go out of their way to make sure they are happy, comfortable etc. the other women are the worst to other women tho. This is limited to the “science” portion of stem. I don’t even know what the rest stands for. Science Trucking Education and Masonry?
I'm guessing that the reason Eileen Pollack's new book is called The Only Woman in the Room: Why Science Is Still a Boys' Club is because it's a more interesting title than The Trials and Tribulations of Eileen Pollack. So three cheers to the marketing department at Beacon Press. They certainly suckered me into reading this—oh, what should I say?—hopelessly self-involved effort to explain a major social problem.
I saw this post a couple hours ago and just thought 'why the fuck didn't she stand up for herself and explain why her opinion matters' rather than getting in a huff, throwing a tantrum and refusing to talk to anyone?

This is literally just a "Your boss agreed that we do it this way, so talk with him first."
Explain it like I'm 5 - why do women go into fields where they get objectified and treated like shit (waitresses, nurses, teachers, law) but suddenly can't go into fields that are IMO less tough but require more problem solving than dealing with people?
Serious: In STEM women actually get treated almost equal. This does not mean it is fair. Why is it fair to treat women like men? For equal treatment you could also treat men like women, right?
I am a STEM major myself and the females really liked me because I talked to them like they are actual women. They like this as long as you do not cross a line. The line depends on how attractive you are.
I feel ya 120%. Not in STEM, but i am a female architectural designer. Though my title is Senior Designer / Project Manager, often GC and other trade people would not even say “hi” when i walk in to a meeting nor would make a small talk. When there is another male colleague, thats when i find out these people actually can talk and know how to socialize. Of course, i dont plan on making friends with these a-holes but even during a meeting, what I say is not much weighted and i have to put a different persona to look/sound/act more directive and carefully cater my words so people can take me seriously. Every time i point out something, 8 out of 10 times, its regarded as sensitive, complaining, personal, “must be on her period”, etc. After years of working in this field, now i have a totally different personality at work vs home. This really has been taking a toll on me and i think about quitting my job every single day.
I’m a cunt at work and people pick up on it quickly

Chances are that none of the people in that discussion are actually women.
