The lyric, "I'd rather be working for a paycheck than waiting to win the lottery" is so accurate. I'm not saying anyone should settle but if you're always waiting to find the perfect person, that only happens in books. You date around for a bit until you find someone that you have enough in common with to make cohabitation pleasant. You find someone that generally shares your worldview and has a similar sense of humor. They're going to have flaws and imperfections, but you learn how to compromise and to make the best of it. Are there going to be people that check more boxes than others? Sure. It's about finding ways to make it work and someone who loves you despite all your flaws and imperfections.
Decent advice? On reddit? Its more likely than you think.
