Well his work in Manufacturing Consent on how the setup of the mainstream corporate broadcast media effectively mandates that certain opinions are barred is pretty reasonable. If you have "the national conversation" gatekept by New York millionaires at companies owned by New York billionaires who are kept afloat by advertising for other billion-dollar companies and have their speech restricted by the US Gov, it's not unreasonable to suggest that anything that severely contradicts the interests of any one of those groups might be (intentionally or unintentionally) suppressed. The problem is that apart from criticizing "thuh system", I haven't seen him articulate a viable alternative.

The September 11 attacks were major atrocities. In terms of number of victims they do not reach the level of many others, for example, Clinton’s bombing of the Sudan with no credible pretext, destroying half its pharmaceutical supplies and probably killing tens of thousands of people (no one knows, because the US blocked an inquiry at the UN and no one cares to pursue it). Not to speak of much worse cases, which easily come to mind. But that this was a horrendous crime is not in doubt.
