Every school has 2 or 3 that are good at any given time depending on when they are suspended. When i was at LSU it was: DKE= uptown honkies that want to be weird, sigma chi= widespread panic fans, KA= general lee, and so on.

I was in one of the above 3 at LSU, we were basically told to take as many pledges possible because the university was driving up the cost of doing business. It was what got us kicked off. Start taking kids from places like Katy Texas and it’s a crapshoot

Ehhh, I never joined a frat but I can see the appeal. When I was in the military I found out there is a lot of truth to the idea of bonding over shared suffering. While I don't miss it, being out I realized I'll probably never make friends that I was as close to as the ones I was in the military with which is a fuckin drag to realize.

But you didn't join the military to find some friends, while it's the primary goal of most people joining frats.

To unstick from the circlejerk a little bit, the difference between a large state school fraternity and a small school fraternity is so large they need a different name. At big schools the frat alumni run shit and so the frat never gets into trouble. At smaller schools they are the administration's bitches, catching all the flak and getting bussypounded with rules. Like they can't all attend the same party or its "their party" and they are liable for anything that goes wrong, shits hilarious.

Meanwhile the swim team, rugby team, business org, etc all throw awesome parties and no one gives a shit. Never understood it, but a pretty easy to game system.

The main problem with frats is the people who have time to pledge, join the frat, do all their social shit, and be involved likely doesn't have any career prospects or success in college - thus the frat is good for them as one of their brothers will come through and get them a job somewhere (if bussy is given enough times)
