Which is that the entire social side of the internet was a mistake and should be deleted. Unironically if these little faggots couldn’t live their entire lives online and get their social interactions from chatrooms and Internet forums, they probably wouldn’t have shot some place up.

It wasn't a mistake, we're just in the early phase of figuring out how to use a new technology from which society has to adjust to via social norms. But those social norms don't yet exist: we're still in the creation phase.

That's one of my biggest problems with the USA.

1. We develop things without regulating them
2. Then wait til we see all the (usually negative) side effects that arise from said new developments.
3. Act surprised.
4. Point to some other external issue as the source of the problem.
5. Ignore the actual problem and don't add any regulations.
6. Rinse. Repeat.

It's fucking sad how obvious this is for almost every new invention (outside of medicine, but even then).
