In his never ending fools quest for positive attention NYC mayor Bill de Bloated picks up the torch for tax-evading famed pizza joint DiFara's. NYC residents, never missing a chance to look a gift horse in the mouth, complain he is not focusing on important issues like homelessness and corruption

New Yorkers only care about the homeless when they camp out in front of their SoulCycles and cold press juice stores.

Biggie is trying to roll over in his grave but they built a cupcake shoppe over it.

Gentrification is good though

Tell that to Travis Bickle

Streaming is the dumbest thing to ever get popular that I hope this venture does as much damage as possible to the entire platform. I will support any and every cause to nuke all streaming platforms. It was a mistake to dabble in these dark arts, and it must be dealt with.

Why do people think leaders can only focus on one thing at a time?
You see this with law enforcement a lot too. "why are they investigating this thing I don't care about and not this thing I do care about??" as if they can only investigate one thing at a time.
3 lolcows63 2019-08-22
Because there isn't infinite time, you can do multiple things but if saving a tax dodging business is a priority then you are most certainly not spending enough time on bigger problems
1 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
What problems is he not responding to?
1 lolcows63 2019-08-22
well according to the title homelessness and corruption, but littreally anything would probably be better than saving a business not paying taxes.
1 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
So if I go look into this right now, new york will have nothing happening in relation to corruption and the homeless?
2 JumbledFun 2019-08-22
Well something is definitely happening in relation to those, they are getting worse!
0 AlabasterCohen 2019-08-22
He’s a communist with a colored wife and he cares more about illegal immigrants than the Hasidic population
1 JumbledFun 2019-08-22
The reason people are upset is because de Blasio is an absolute lazy shit bird who's done fuck all during his time in office other than build a few more bike lanes, and piss off the nyc asian community by trying to discriminate against their kids. He occasionally tries to push a shiny issue that will make him look good in his mind, but always blows up in his face as it usually relates to a shallow issue nobody cares about. He also has been in a long running contest with the state governor on who can stick their head further up their own ass, de Blasio is currently winning.
1 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
Wow, so he's a politician?
5 JumbledFun 2019-08-22
I mean theres being a politician and then there is being de blasio. He makes Trump look productive. The only reason he got a second term is due to the crazy levels of corruption in the local dem chapter. No valid person ran against him
1 Green_and_Lean 2019-08-22
Sounds like Pritzker, the fat land-whale running Illinois
1 remarkENable 2019-08-22
Harvard told me it's ok to discriminate against Asians because they have bad personalities.
1 Whaddaulookinat 2019-08-22
It was actually kinda masterful how Cuomo absolutely cucked the shit or of de Blasio time and time again

Why do you think leaders shouldn't be criticized for tweeting out bullshit when there are real problems they seem to be ignoring?
2 Kaiser-romulus 2019-08-22
If Trump tweeted this Pizza would be having a meltdown lmao.
1 NumerousEvent 2019-08-22
I was hoping his "reading comprehension" would notice the link about leaders "tweeting out bullshit." I think it evaded him.
1 OnlyRacistOnReddit 2019-08-22
That poor guy starts drooling just seeing Trump's name on the screen. I almost feel sorry for him.
1 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
I'm not against the idea of being critical of these people. I'm against the fallacious idea that you can only do one thing at a time and that if someone tweets about one issue, it means they aren't doing anything about another issue.
1 fucksrdmods 2019-08-22
Okay but unless you have like no other fucking issues to deal with, you shouldn’t be preoccupied with helping a fucking pizza place lmao
2 HodorTheDoorHolder_ 2019-08-22
Pizza is a lot more important than the homeless scourge in NYC.
1 Whaddaulookinat 2019-08-22
If pizza was so important to NYC you would think they would take the time and effort to engineer an edible slice.
1 Slump_o 2019-08-22
suck my balls
1 Whaddaulookinat 2019-08-22
Far preferable to eating NYC "pizza"
1 preserved_fish 2019-08-22
We don't have a homeless scourge. It's not the 80s or current SF.
1 loli_esports 2019-08-22
its all ny has, you can't let them take it away.

OK bub.
1 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
I was mocking the fact people think he's capable of doing only one thing at a time.
So yes, you have poor reading comprehension. I wasn't mocking the simple act of being critical of him in general.
1 NumerousEvent 2019-08-22
Yes, that is exactly what they think and not just a strawman you made. "Reading comprehension."
1 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
That is what they seem to be implying, that him tweeting about this means he's not doing other stuff as well.
1 NumerousEvent 2019-08-22
Is that what your reading comprehension tells you? Because the saner option is, "A pizza place being shut down for tax evasion is a complete non-issue and you respond to it right away. Meanwhile, you are very slow to act on other issues in this city. That is a joke."
1 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
What issues is he not acting on?
3 TheFerrret 2019-08-22
Literally anything. Ask literally anybody in NYC how he's done anything for anyone ever.
1 NumerousEvent 2019-08-22
Of course, he is either not acting on an issue, or he's already doing all he can and can devote his unlimited remaining time to do "anything" to save a tax cheat. How foolish I was to think that the mayor of NYC and his aids already have a full schedule, and devoting any time looking into how they can resolve this situation takes away time from other tasks.
1 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
It's not exactly hard to save a pizza place from a state tax bill dude, it's certainly a lot easier for them than coming up with a full solution to end corruption and homelessness overnight.
At some point you're going to have to admit you misread what I said.
1 NumerousEvent 2019-08-22
I just made fun of you for your all-or-nothing false dilemma, and you double down on it. It's either "a full solution to end corruption and homelessness overnight" or he's doing nothing.
2 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
It wasn't a false dilemma. The people there are literally implying he can not save a pizza place and do other things at the same time.
2 NumerousEvent 2019-08-22
You are as retarded as you look, which explains how you are taking away the wrong implication despite it being explained to you several times.
0 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
I'm not getting the wrong implication. You misread my comment, realized you didn't know what I said, and this is your cope attempt.
They were sperging at him over a bike lane being planned too slowly in that twitter chain. The bottom line is, you have no evidence him tweeting about a pizzaplace is somehow preventing him from doing other things. So why sperg at him for tweeting about a pizza place?
2 NumerousEvent 2019-08-22
Here is what another poster said:
You replied:
And this is false dilemma. The mayor of a large city has his schedule completely packed, and the time he spends on different activities is a zero sum game. An hour spent on this is an hour not spent on another task.
You immediately take it to the all-or-nothing false dilemma: that hour either means he is spending no time on another task, or he must solve it completely. This is bullshit. I don't know what the mayor had to bump from his schedule to accommodate this, but anything takes a higher priority than saving a tax-dodging business.
It adds insult to injury if a group (such as bicyclists) had been lobbying the mayor's office without getting acknowledged for a while when the mayor tweets about a tax-dodging business the day after it gets shut down.
1 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
I don't care what that person said, I'm talking about the ttwitter chain. Look at some of the tweets:
How is this not implying a tweet about a pizza place is somehow taking up his time when he could be doing something else?
This right here? How do they know it took 15. What if they had something in the works after the first, and due to the fact it takes a while to plan these things he didn't say anything about it until they had a valid plan?
What is he going to do about 5 people being shot in a city? What do they want him to say? This is also directly implying he cares more about pizza than murder because of a single tweet.
Frankly, I suspect you have no idea what you are talking about. He likely didn't even write this tweet, a staffer probably did. Let me explain how this really went.
"Can you guys send out a tweet about this pizza place and then start working on a solution?" He then tells someone on his staff to handle it. Do you think he's personally spending an hour at his desk coming up with a plan or something?
Bicyclists are some of the most insufferable people on earth and I wouldn't directly deal with them either.

Yet they tweet right away about a pizza shop! Just replace the pizza shop language with bicycle fatalities, and he would at least look like he cares. Are you still not getting it?
I left out the "and his staff" in this post, although in my defense I mentioned them earlier when dunking on you.
I think you have no idea what you are talking about since you think that the mayor's staff has infinite time. In case you aren't aware, the staff members are also super busy. If a staff member is spending 1 hour working out how to save a tax dodging business rather than doing almost anything else, that is time wasted.
1 professorshillphd 2019-08-22
Look, you can admit you didn't read what I said or you can keep claiming those people aren't delusional, I don't care.
I have more interesting arguments to handle. I'm content with how this went. Your inability to grasp these points is not my problem.
I'm not going to watch this cope fest anymore because you got called out on poor reading comprehension.
1 NumerousEvent 2019-08-22
I know this is where you like to plant your flag and pretend you won your argument, but you got dunked on pretty hard you mong.
