There's still controversy today about which colour the Greeks actually were. They're usually perceived as very white but that's mainly just due to the fact that marble is white and was also good for statues. I don't think it's a stretch to believe that a Greek-African would have pale brown skin, or even that ancient Greeks as a whole would have pale brown skin.
