But on the other hand it's pretty retarded to praise a billionaire for doing the bare minimum involved in being a decent human being. And Florida has anti-price gouging laws for hurricanes that are strictly enforced so it's not like the guy could jack up prices even if he wanted too.
People are way too vulnerable to corporate propaganda today, like they always were, but social media is making it way worse.
A good example would be the tax cut fiasco and Walmart. In an effort to bamboozle trumptards they claimed the tax cuts allowed them to "increase wages" and then fired thousands of people while proving a very minor pay hike.
A lot of companies also did tiny, one time bonuses and claimed the tax cut allowed them to do it, to the praise of Trumptards on social media. So for example, they'd spend 100 million of the 5-8 billion they got back, provide a one time bonus, and then do nothing to increase wages.
But the small one time bonus was a propaganda win because idiots on social media sucked them off because it made them feel good about "their tribe."
This hotel shit isn't all that different. They're just looking for a propaganda win, doing the absolute minimum required to get that win, and they'll go back to being scumbags right after.
