Obviously I’m an idiot, but word is that most of the vaping deaths are from shitty preparations of THC vape products. Kinda makes sense, as vaping has been around for like a decade but mainstream THC pens I’ve only started seeing frequently in the past 2-3 years.
You'd be surprised what people spray on weed and what they're willing to sell. I know for a fact that many growers use highly poisonous chemicals, chemicals that are highly illegal to use on food or any other agricultural product that a human touches or consumes. There's an aphid that can easily ravage your pot plants. It burrows into the roots, lays eggs then when they hatch they destroy the root system killing the plant before it fully matures. If you catch it early you can fix the problem by spraying with a pesticide that is extremely poisonous. The only problem is that you cant remove the pesticide once it's in a bud so if you spray after the plant is budding you'll be harvesting weed covered in it.
Another thing that people dont realize is that a lot of weed has mold on it. A lot of times a grower will take moldy weed and turn it into dabs or distillate. The process doesnt destroy the mold spores and if you smoke enough of them you're lungs will be permanently fucked.
Thank you for pointing some of that out. Been years since I poked the smot, but I saw the spraying with my own eyes. People would be prattling on about GMO’s, growth hormones, veganism, all that crunchy shit while lighting that stuff up. Always found that funny.
Saw a good deal of moldy shit too. Think one guy would just spray it with some kind of “fruity aroma” substance to make it more appealing.
Companies might be able to reintroduce their flavors at a later date, so long as they submit a formal application and receive approval from the FDA.
