Cars generally aren't allowed on Mackinac Island, a tourist trap in Lake Huron, as most people get around on bike or horse drawn buggy. The VP was on the island over the weekend to assure Michigan Republicans that he and Daddy appreciate them and aren't out of touch by taking an 8 SUV motorcade to drive the mile or so from the dock to the hotel where the Republican retreat was. While Pence says it was all the Secret Service's doing, most Michiganders respectfully disagree.
