Someone woman on Reddit told her story about being in the theater the night of the shooting. It’s quite a harrowing account. Her husband got shot in the leg, but because of the adrenaline he barely noticed. When they both got out they realized his leg was overflowing with blood and he almost passed out. It was very close to being amputated if paramedics arrived later than they did.
A leg wound in the wrong spot will cause you to die in minutes. Had a friend who was robbed at his house, the burglars shot him in the leg with a handgun, bullet clipped his femoral artery, and he bled out before the ambulance was even close.
When I had my motorcycle crash, my first thought was shame that I was blocking the road with my bike, so I stood up, picked it up, and pushed it over to the side of the road.
At the hospital I later discovered I had a broken collarbone. I could feel pain in my left side as I was picking that heavy ass bike up but somehow I ignored it. I was also covered completely in bruises and had torn off skin from road rash in several places, luckily my helmet and clothes absorbed most of the damage. But had literally skidded along the asphalt at 60 miles an hour bouncing like a rag doll.
Somehow I weirdly don't recall the incident as being very painful, like I've stubbed my toe, or had to hold my shit on the rain, and recalled worse pain. Two guys like ran over to me soon after it happened and I was trying to get up and talk to them but I remember one just saying "He's in shock" and it suddenly sort of clicked, fuck I am, so I just laid down.
Now it hurt a lot the next day, I was practically immobile.
Hmmm, about 9 months maybe. My arm wouldn't heal after six months, then I had a surgery to fix the clavicle and that took another 3 or so months to recover from. Although I still feel shit from it, never gonna go away entirely I think.
Like I went to NYC once and wanted to take the elevator to the top of the Freedom Tower with my brother once. His (now ex) wife practically had a panic attack and wouldn't let us though. Like I think it's dumb, but I understand, whatever.
