I can think of two possibilities: Maybe reddit is trying out some new system of AI and cheap foreign labor to do "anti-evil operations" and they don't know anything about reddit and JC's role here. Or maybe the admins are divided against each other and can't make up their minds about what to do.
AEO is cheap foreign labor, it has been. This is why they fuck up and make so many mistakes. I caught a 3 day ban for reporting someone. They said it was moderator harassment. I had to appeal and point out to them I was the reporter.
