Korean films are my kryptonite. I know we only see the best, but every single one has been so on point for me. Some of them go heavy on the wholesome family shit, but they make me feel it. It’s kind of like Japanese cinema but with no pretentiousness.
Those plus I saw the Devil, The Wailing, Old Boy, technically Snowpiercer (director) are the ones I immediately remember. There are one or two more I’m trying to remember that weren’t as standout.
It reminded me that my SO and I had a cat and the FIRST time I ever bought those treats in the video the cat responded without training
Here's what happened in my brain afted that - my wife committed suicide coming up 4 years ago - the cat video reminded me of our cat Lola, who was there freaking out when I found my wife's body - I was freaking out, the cat was freaking out, it was like being in hell. The paramedics and cops TOOK FOREVER TO ARRIVE and it was just Lola and I just dealing with the horrifying reality
My wife's father put me in a mental hospital after all that and while I was in there he had Lola euthanized
So basically the cat video transported me back in time into that place and to all those memories
Damn I'm sorry to hear that, that's a lot for anyone to deal with. If you need anyone to talk/vent to just PM me any time and I'll reply when I can. Don't commit suicide because you still bring joy to people even if it's just by shitposting on reddit from time to time. Hope things start looking up for you, and remember you always have someone to go to in a time of need.
how the fuck did it take this long for this movie to come out in amerikkka i watched it on a local film festival in my shithole eastern european 30k """people""" town like half a year ago
My parasite reviews are as follows: hookworms, 0/10, look gross and are just a pain in general. Pinworms, 3/10, generally unpleasant but every once in awhile you get that perfect butthole scratch and it's just like aww yeah. Tapeworms, 9/10, if you're a ameriburger then I have the parasite for you you get to eat a bunch of food and still lose weight, I would give it a 10/10 but every once in awhile you have to shit out a bunch of tapeworm segments and it's pretty gross

Psychological thriller, dark comedy, satire.

Sounds like my scene, thanks for mentioning it.

It’s the best film I’ve seen this year.

Give me some titles. I’ve only seen some horror and I’ve loved em (train to busan, the host)

Oh I forgot Old Boy and Snowpiercer as well. The first left me speechless the second one was a nice flick.

Ya, Snowpiercer was alright. I saw the devil I actually liked better than The Wailing maybe, which is talked about constantly now.

Noice, I'll get it watched. Somehow only coming out in theatres march 2020 here.
1 HodorTheDoorHolder_ 2019-10-11
Where’s here? It’s playing in California.
1 Standard12 2019-10-11
Scotland, and it turns out its February rather than March but I'll just get it downloaded.

He peaked with memories of murder. Does this come close?
1 HodorTheDoorHolder_ 2019-10-11
Stop acting like a pretentious tool. This won Cannes.
1 Stoicpeace 2019-10-11
That's why I am asking you if it comes close. I wasn't saying it was bad or anything.
1 HodorTheDoorHolder_ 2019-10-11
I’m saying it’s really good. LA Times called it a masterpiece.
1 Stoicpeace 2019-10-11
I was going to check it out regardless but I like to temper my expectations before that.
1 HodorTheDoorHolder_ 2019-10-11
It’s an homage to Sinbad’s Houseguest.
1 ryzyryz 2019-10-11
but he is right. Memories of murder is his best movie. But im willing to say that this is close second
1 HodorTheDoorHolder_ 2019-10-11

1 ryzyryz 2019-10-11

Do you need a hug boss?
1 NMJ87 2019-10-11
I had my mind on some real shit last night...
Like some hellish memories
1 somestupidname1 2019-10-11
Care to elaborate?
1 NMJ87 2019-10-11
Grief and memory are strange.
Last night it was very late
I was up, browsing Reddit, I saw this video
https://v.redd.it/qllful8cwtr31
It reminded me that my SO and I had a cat and the FIRST time I ever bought those treats in the video the cat responded without training
Here's what happened in my brain afted that - my wife committed suicide coming up 4 years ago - the cat video reminded me of our cat Lola, who was there freaking out when I found my wife's body - I was freaking out, the cat was freaking out, it was like being in hell. My wife's father put me in a mental hospital after all that and while I was in there he had Lola euthanized
So basically the cat video transported me back in time into that place and to all those memories
And now again, writing all this
I want to hang myself, but I am a coward

International distribution laws. The US has a cap on how many Korean films can be distributed each year in this market.
1 somestupidname1 2019-10-11
I love Korean horror/thrillers, definitely going to check it out after work.
1 Mrtheliger 2019-10-11
I was hoping you would actually have something of value to say. Disappointing
1 HodorTheDoorHolder_ 2019-10-11
Oh I do but why say anything of value here?
1 Mrtheliger 2019-10-11
Why not? I try to on my movie threads
1 HodorTheDoorHolder_ 2019-10-11
Cuz I got stuff to do
1 Mrtheliger 2019-10-11
Do it on your own time brother. There's no time constraints here!
