I totally realize most people are going to disagree with me here but I feel compelled to say that closing the sub for a joke wasn't a very kind thing to do. We have seen TONS of posts from vulnerable populations talking about how this sub is a source of support and humor in a dark time. Irony and dirtbagism aside, taking away that support without warning was not okay.
You can say I'm being silly, or humorless or reactionary. Whatever. I love the show and I love this community. But sometimes I come home after dealing with ableism and our nightmare reality all day, and this sub is one of many things that make me feel better. It wasn't a good feeling to find this sub closed for the sake of irony. Maybe that's laughable or pathetic. But for me, it's true.
I feel we under-use askreddit as a source of redditor retardation, but I'm also too lazy to comb through that pile of garbage for submissions content myself.
One of my favorite things to do on reddit is to go on /r/AskReddit new section and look at all the questions of boomers asking things like "Where's the best bar in random city, Tennessee?"

In one thread, you’ve got one guy arguing that gender reassignment surgery is ethical because gender is a social construct, and another guy arguing that gender reassignment surgery is ethical because gender is biologically determined and you can be born with a female brain in a male body. Outside of climate change denial, has there ever been a more obviously logically inconsistent ideology?
I'd say this is more logically inconsistent than climate change denial, even. The climate change morons have a single, coherent idea about what's happening, and that's that the global temperature changes are not man-made and the world isn't heading for disaster. They're retarded, and in denial, but their theory is at least consistent within itself.
Gender ideology has people arguing two mutually exclusive arguments at the same time and then yelling "bigot!" at anyone who points it out. It's not just illogical, it's a fundamental denial that logical consistency is even a good thing.
At least climate change has some sort of objective reality behind it. The earth is either warming or it isn't. Mankind is either contributing or they aren't. The rest is just specifics.
Gender theory is literally based in how you feel. And most of those people feel crazy.
It has to do with the advent of alchemical sciences being heralded as truth. Its complete gobbledygook. Psychology is 90% pure pseudoscience. None of this garbage will remain in even 20-30 years once proper brain modeling is done and is understood. It's all modern day alchemy.
Without the snips how does the Sultan have an elite force loyal to only him which can not pass on their great wealth and power in a hereditary manner??
If reassignment surgery did anything but make them all gross and shit the suicide rate would drop below 40%. Gender dysphoria is a mental disease just like schizophrenia or depression or whatever, and it should be treated as such, not like some easily fixable little problem.
They will never be a woman or man when they're born as the opposite and at the end of the day theyll never be able to reconcile that, even with a surgery. It may be a sad truth, but it's the truth nonetheless.
