I'll quote the immortal Canadian rock trio: "if you choose not to decide you still have made a choice."

Now this is redditing.

That almost sounds like old reddit redditing, like 2012 /r/atheism et. al.

Better days.

sad sips

Back when atheist teens were considered the most obnoxious people on this site.

Nowadays they don't even register on the radar.

I always figure these redditors bitching the most about people who want to stay out of politics are the ones living with their parents or living off of welfare or even dumb housewives. I also see them as the ones who post a meme on Facebook and then call themselves "activists."

You could have just said tankies.

truuuuue

I'm past the point of partisan garbage and ive been exposing myself to many ideas and ive found generally both sides have a partial truth -----so there actually might be some weight to this george soros shit ----- my question is, is there anyone on earth that is talked about more than george soros that talks less than george soros does

Choosing to not make a political statement is a political statement. It signals that group is fine with the status quo even if it one of oppression.

People need to get over the illusion that politics isn't a part of their lives everyday.

Reddit is the worst

You know, not to dwell on the particulars of this case, but isn't this - the idea that somehow NBA bears a responsibility for a kid with a shirt that says something controversial - the essence of it all and a mountain too high to climb?

Let me explain - people get all upset over this but they look at you like you're crazy once you say that a mainstream media outlet such as NY Times, in fact chooses, what "opinion" and by whom to publish is a "choice", a conscious choice knowing full well the effect they will have on masses. They "choose" but we suffer and wonder, what is the way out?

Which unfortunately brings me to Ted K who as always has all the answers:

  1. As for our constitutional rights, consider for example that of freedom of the press. We certainly don’t mean to knock that right; it is very important tool for limiting concentration of political power and for keeping those who do have political power in line by publicly exposing any misbehavior on their part. But freedom of the press is of very little use to the average citizen as an individual. The mass media are mostly under the control of large organizations that are integrated into the system. Anyone who has a little money can have something printed, or can distribute it on the Internet or in some such way, but what he has to say will be swamped by the vast volume of material put out by the media, hence it will have no practical effect. To make an impression on society with words is therefore almost impossible for most individuals and small groups. Take us (FC) for example. If we had never done anything violent and had submitted the present writings to a publisher, they probably would not have been accepted. If they had been been accepted and published, they probably would not have attracted many readers, because it’s more fun to watch the entertainment put out by the media than to read a sober essay. Even if these writings had had many readers, most of these readers would soon have forgotten what they had read as their minds were flooded by the mass of material to which the media expose them. In order to get our message before the public with some chance of making a lasting impression, we’ve had to kill people.

Mommy is soooo proud of you, sweaty. Let's put this sperg out up on the fridge with all your other failures.

Damn, making Marx look like a boy-ifesto. I’ve really got to get around to reading that.

As annoying as people can be who start shit over minor issues, I do wonder if people actually think sports which involves the movement of so many millions of dollars around the globe, actually has no political aspect? I'm sure everyone would be upset if they tried to partner with North Korea to make jerseys or something. I guess the NBA can only be political when LeBron James needs to feel special
